My Little American Individualist turned 18

June 18th 1991 -- The greatest day of my life.
My daughter was born and I gave up the ways of a child and took on the responsibilities of being a man.
I was 20
My wife was 18
I was a certified welder -- she was working at the Junior College in Admin. We had two silver bars and our clothes. If we can do it so can anyone. Oh, and we had a very mature love and sense of propriety in our home.

For all you young parents I can say this. Love and Discipline (be consistent with both).
Homeschool if Possible

my son would be 3 yrs old now
but he was just getting ready to be out of the 1st trimester but didnt make it..........then after going broke trying to pay the medical bills my wife figured if she was going to live broke then she might as well have some fun so she moved in with a bunch of low-lifes in the next town.....what a land we live in.
everyone that has your children cherish them 'cause you just never know whats around the corner.
My youngest is 19, my oldest 25 --
both homeschooled and both successful in their goals. It is so scary having them out on their own in this world, but every day of their still-growing maturity feels good. They are strong individualists, awake, aware, and I can only hope they'll cope with the rapid changes going on and see a real turn toward freedom and peace in their lifetimes.
Reedr: Well said
19 and 25 -- I can't imagine.
And both homeschooled way to go!!
I have the same "hope" / "prayer" -- that she'll be able to adjust and adapt.
She has a fiery and tenacious resolve, though she's balanced by love and empathy. I really couldn't be more proud of her.

Henri: If you have liberty in your heart you are never alone
Keep beating that drum of freedom brother -- your reward is in the hereafter (whatever that may bring).
That being said -- I am not necessarily looking forward to that day; but, the first bandaid rip is over and I will be better prepared for the next.
How are keeping your self youthfull and entertained?

I know the feeling
I was 18 and my wife 17. Now our oldest is 26 and my youngest will be 18 in November. Does anyone else here sometimes, "almost", regret having kids in this world?
I know what you are feeling.
I had no idea the world was so controlled. My sons are in their 20s and are so full of hope, but I know better. Everything I do I do for them. I am getting things set up so when poo happens hopefully, what I have done will aid them in someway. That is all my husband and I can do. They are adults and have brains they will need to use them. If there is an afterlife I am going to be at their side helping them anyway I can.

Thanks
That's is about all we can do. And hope we have taught them well enough to meet the coming challenges head on.
