I have followed this issue for a while
Phil Berg is not a right wing nut job.
And the more You read about it the more You believe Obama has an eligibility problem.
Thank god the public is totally dumb and ignorant.
So they can get away with " Right wing racists say Obama is not a citizen"
Many people here are probably aware that the question is: Is he natural born citizen?
The answer is very likely : No
At many levels.
1. His father was a british subject, he passed on his citizenship to his child.
2. His mother was too young to pass on her citizenship automatically.
3, His birth certificate has never been made public. The thing on his website is a Computer print out of the original record and very likely a forgery. (Race father: African, and other questionable things)
4. He was adopted by Lolo Soetoro and lost his American citizenship. Indonesia did not allow dual citizenship. He possibly nerver went through immigration. (that makes his really "not a citizen of the US)
And so on blablabla
The thing is, all records are sealed. We can only assume things.
Meanwhile he bombs Pakistan and the Left is silent.
Afraid to be called a right wing nut jobs I suppose.

I just remarked that they are the only ones they care about. They can abort, munch and bugger away - I just don't want to hear them whining for any special legislative/judicial considerations.
I agree with Maddow as well.
At least mostly, and her is why. The birthers are obsessed with Obama, and his differences. There are real concerns about this Constitutional issue. There is no clear definition of "natural born", nor is there an established process for determining whether ALL candidates are qualified for the office. The problem is clearly with Congress and their failure to establish and enforce these rules for EVERYBODY.
Obama followed the rules that have been established, the same as everyone else, the birthers want to isolate him because, well, he is different. There is a problem, but it is not with Obama's following or not following the rules, it is the rules themselves and that is under the authority and scope of Congress, not Obama.

The rules are fairly clear. They couldn't be applied because his refusal to disclose the relevant information was protected by the courts.

If he hadn't followed the rules, I think he would have tried to hide it. I spend $3 million a day on coffee, don't you? These "birthers" are nutty kooks and have no reasonable claims. Especially the whole Idonesian thing. Everybody knows that Indonesia lets US citizens in it's public school system; you don't have to become an Idonesian citizen. And his grandma in Kenya is clearly a conspiracy theorist too. What a bunch of nuts.

I don't know where Obama was born, but at this point the guy is president. This fantasy that he's going to be proved to have been born outside the US, and then removed form office is unrealistic. There was a better case that John McCain wasn't a citizen, as he was born in Panama.

Obama is no better or worse than Bush, which is of course quite bad. And Obama's mother was American. I think you need to cut your heart open and distinguish xenophobia from policy issues. This makes the whole freedom movement look stupid to be associated with it. There are serious policy issue that we should address, and this just distracts from them.

While we are not fans of Maddow, she is against torture and indefinite imprisonment.
However summing up groups as "birthers" or holding xenophobic/homophobic views all falls under the same tent.

Let's just imagine that his citizenship was under open scrutiny. That Obama could explain his trip to Pakistan on an American passport, the obvious withholding of original documents, the utter disregard for the Constitution. His citizenship status, birth place, origin, mom and dad, are all of great importance - for if he's not in the seat of the president, he can pass no policy as the president. Would you go to see a play if you knew the understudy was in the lead role instead of the main actor. You'd probably have second thoughts. Obama is the lead actor, it would be advantageous to extract him from that position, even if the basis is his nationality. Plus it would show both Dem and Rep disdain for the law and the American people. Or would you just rather we take our poison like good little girls and boys?
I say fight the message, and if possible, the message maker, and the messenger. They're all in it together.

is always droll. I do not feel any real understanding of the subject in her words, just regurgitation of the scrolling prompter. I'm not put off that many accept a lesser document as substantitive proof, but I am incensed when they do not understand the need for proper evidence and base their satire off of that. Unfortunately, we will see much more of this as the mindless move to defend their empty assumptions and pay homage to the collapsing government they need so much for their handouts. Education and inventive teaching tactics are more in need than ever. Patience is a virtue, but in the end of days, efficiency may just have to be the patch that pulls us through.
