Just curious if there are any other boards similar to this one that are any good?

Plywood beats particle board any day. Too many chemicals in the glue of the particle board - very likely to make you sick. Stay away from it!

I've got a 9'-7" Cooperfish

I've got a 9'-7" Cooperfish Hornet single fin pintail with double 8 oz. cloth glass job that is my favorite all around board ever on waves up to head high.

I also currently have watch over my brother's Velzy longboard from the '90s that is pretty cool, very wide in the hips with a square tail, single fin box, very little rocker, a pretty sleek nose and fair bit of concave. Very fun board in small to medium sized surf! (I will get it back to you soon bro, I promise - as soon as I glass on that tail block!)

My "big wave" board (which for me means anything overhead) is a Ron Jones "Classic" tri-fin 9'-4" pintail, definitely Skip Frye influenced, about 21" wide at about 3' back from the nose, with 50/50 rails for the front 2/3 tapering back to hard downturn edges at the tail. Very fast and a bit on the loose on big waves!

Next up is a fish, making sure to keep it under the 6' mark so the guys at the cliffs won't give me the stinkeye.

single fin. It's a fun board and medium rocker,excellent to about 6-8 feet. ridden or owned about every maker known over the last 30 years. Hobie,Hanson,Yater Oneil,Velzy, Johnnie Rice, Steve Colletta, Donald Takayama, Will Jobson, ect...

The next project is going to be a Takayama retro, e-glass with tint to make it look like the old volan green glass......after that I'm going to build a 10'-0 balsa and thats the one I'm mounting shark teeth all the way around the bottom of the nose..I figure i can easily carve the balsa very carefully and press in the teeth and glass over it. It will look really cool burying the rail on a cutback and seeing all those teeth...

so the teeth will be buried in it, that's good. for a moment there i envisioned them pointing out as a sign for others to say out of your way... reminds me of a time some dude turned back into me on a wave after shoulder hopping me and took the nose of my 10'6" right in his shin. it splintered my double 8 oz. glass job, but he said through his teeth that it didn't hurt... yeah right!
