Federal Troops Attack Veterans Marching in DC

Our government has not been completely innocent in the way it's treated it's own citizens.

Those who are without sin cast the first stone. How can we cast the first stone at other countries when we have this black mark on our own history?

I myself am having a difficult time believing the part about Patton and the swamp. However, if it is true, I have no doubt he is spending his eternity in that very special place reserved for those who commit such acts.

The Veterans March of 1932

In June 1932 a small band of World War One Veterans calling themselves the Bonus Expeditionary Force or BEF started gathering in Washington to protest Congress' delay in the payment of their War Bonds they were promised. By mid August their numbers had grown to between 15,000 and 24,00 depending on the source as more and more Veterans and their families gathered in Washington demanding that they be paid.

On August 28.1932 President Hoover ordered General Douglas Macarthur to evict the Veterans. Macarthur ordered then Majors George Patton and Dwight Eisenhower to mobilize the Federal troops out of Fort Myers, Virginia.

At 4:00 that afternoon Major Patton ordered the Calvary to charge the unarmed veterans and their families. Killing and wounding many of the marchers as well as a few by standers, one of whom was a United States Senator. As the day progressed into night the Army attacked the Veterans main encampment with small arms, bayonets, machineguns and tanks. In all it is reported that some 1,600 people, mostly woman and children were killed in the daylong struggle. Nobody knows for sure the exact number as there were those who had escapped the city during the fighting and who died of their injuries while on the roads heading back to their homes.

THIS IS IMBELLISHED

and not entirely accurate. I am not talking about the movie, I am talking about what has been written about it. I have the book from William Manchester. Unfortunately I lent it to my brother so I can't quote word for word. We NEVER sent anyone to some swamp and did the mass murdering the way it is described in this guys writings. However, we did open fire on these veterans in Washington DC. I am so frustrated because I wish I had the book. I would quote exactly what he said. ALL of this is NOT true. Also, a lot less people died in Washington than stated here.

You should not provide the link because it does describe accurately what occurred. Encourage people to watch the movie and buy Manchester's book.

Thank you, Dear

I do have the book. It is two volumes. The first volume I lent to my brother so I don't have it in front of me. However, I recommend everyone get your hands on this book. It is the best history book I have ever read. I am just up to just before Kennedy is assassinated.

And the link is a LIE

It starts out with the facts and quickly degenerates into lies. Someone needs to delete the link to the lies. Manchester's book and this video explains exactly what happened. There was no marching of women and children off to a swamp to get killed by Patton. What is wrong with this person to post such garbage?

Ron Paul is My President

I started watching this earlier,

and my laptop completely shut off, when I fired it up again later, my firefox, had no bookmarks in the list, and there were several things missing off of the desktop.

I sure it was unrelated to this film, but it was weird.

Damn windows vista!!!!

I will try and watch again when I get some more time. Thanks.

Could you imagine if all the veterans got hold of this story?

eventually?

Hey Billy Jack...God I loved those movies...

It was good to be a young rebel...fun too...glad I lived through it...

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for chasing the swamp info down. I will be very interested to hear what you find out, as this is a "belief system" hand grenade for most of us.

My grandfather was the commander of the Quartermaster Corps under MacArthur for the Pacific Theater, after having spent an earlier part of his carrier in Detroit as part of the Jeep's design team. He was responsible for supplying the war effort on the left side of the world. He came back from the war a womanizer and severe alcoholic, a state of existence that relegated him to the rank of Colonel for the rest of his carrier.

He was a personal friend of Patton and had almost married my father off to Patton's daughter, a relationship that changed after my father met my mother at a West Point dance, and one that really ticked off my Democrat political operative grandmother. Dad was their "Golden Boy" even though he had 5 brothers (4 of which attended The Point) and she had "designs" for him that a Patton marriage would have helped. Needless to say, she never liked my NY socialite mother much.

As my father is so "Army Gray", even to this day, I have been completely unsuccessful in trying to alert him to the Coop that has taken place over the last century, and certainly of the deception of 911. I would have sent him that article but I've waited since the swamp story is so...difficult.

That's an interesting family history...thanks for sharing it!
I too loved the BillyJack movies...I first saw them in 1975. They had a profound and changing impact on my life that continues even today. "One Tin Soldier" was the lullaby my babies were rocked to sleep with.

Ok...back to what I've learned thus far. I received more responses than I expected. Of the ones I've told you about thus far: the vet who wrote that he could corroborate this story as well as several others, was not speaking from real life experience but rather from doing research on it. He served in Nam and the other stories he had came from that era. He was witness to corruption through his Nam service. The vet who wrote to me about his dear friend the survivor wrote back today with the survivor's name and phone number. I haven't been able to reach him yet but will continue trying and report back here after I have talked to him. The other vet who confirmed this was basing his confirmation on service people he had personally talked to from that era after he first learned of this atrocity. Another vet (who is one of "us") contacted me to tell me that his uncle was killed in the swamp. I emailed him back for permission to freely speak about what he has told me as well as identify him for the purpose of a radio interview.
That's all I have thus far other than the several folks who responded to tell me that they had researched this and found it to be true.

The responses I've received make me think it would be a good idea for All of us to do a mass mailing on this....the more info we can compile from actual witnesses, the better off we will be when trying to get the word out about it, imho.

Thank you cactus1010, and thank you

Michael for this self-education forum.
this documentary blows away so many national myths I've lost count.

that blew the myth that "our" soldiers would never turn on fellow Americans; it started so long ago and has only grown worse over the years.

Decades of public mis-education and lies and propaganda; I thought I knew the really big ones, but it's clear there are many still hidden, many to never be known. I guess that's common throughout all history.

the thing that's most disturbing is that the people of the time just took it.
They allowed the Fed, they allowed WW1 for no reason, they allowed the government to enslave the soldiers through conscription, they allowed the soldiers to be double-crossed, unpaid, allowed them to be silenced and brutally suppressed when they asked for meager compensation. They allowed inflation, the bubble and depression, the price controls and plowing crops under, and more and more staggering amounts of control by the government, then WWII and all the horrors we know a bit better than those of WW1. And right up to today; after all the evil and oppression and trickery and failures of the government the majority of the people are just as duped and servile as at the outset of this century.

Ok, so that's the reality. We'll deal with it. The job is so huge, but the truth is coming out fast now with the internet and a determined minority awake and educating ourselves and dedicated to waking and education the many. Every injustice we learn about is more fuel for the education wildfire ignited by Ron Paul and spreading steadily across this land and sending sparks into the whole world.

lol...I forgot all about that.

My god

That is horrifying.

If they would attack the

If they would attack the veterans back then, is there any doubt what they will do to the citizens today?

If this wasn't such a serious subject it would be funny

Don't be duped, Dr. No would of opposed the bonus for the same reason he opposes the stimulus today - deficit spending.

Dr. No would have said no to the draft in the first place.

True

and since then, the learning curve has grown even steeper. "The War To End All Wars." (((laughing)))

This is why I tied my horse to Paul's wagon, the peace candidate !

You're right about Dr.Know but,....

those returning vets DID get duped. They should have burned the place down while there was a chance. Semper Fi.

I think Smedley should of double-crossed the plotters

after he deposed Roosevelt and hanged MacArthur. Semper Fi !

why hang macarthur? .. he

why hang macarthur? .. he was part of the BEF i thought

All paper money eventually returns to its real intrinsic value, zero. - Voltaire

When Smedley Butler was approached by top officials

from the American Legion to depose Roosevelt with a 500,000 veteran army armed by Remington Arms he decided he better take them up on the offer (to expose them to congress) before MacArthur was asked. In Smedley's opinion MacArthur would of deposed Roosevelt and MacArthur would become the Republican's American Mussolini. Note: Republicans at that time admired Mussolini and Fascism, and that's why today the GOP backs candidates like Bush, Giuliani , McCain, Huckabee, not Ron Paul. Republicans [RINO's] are Fascist at heart, and they control the GOP >> http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s143/10thzodiac/cartoons_...

Not.

MacArthur ignored the president’s orders, taking no prisoners and driving tattered protesters from their encampment. No shots were fired, but many were injured by bricks, clubs and bayonets. After Hoover ordered a halt to the army’s march, MacArthur again took things into his own hands, violently clearing the Anacostia campsite, killing three marchers and wounding many.

From the post below.

hey uncle

Do not forget that Eisenhower and Patton were apart of that too....they have blood on their hands as well!!!!

Even thought Patton's kin, Larry McDonald, was a great patriot!!!!
