They can civilly sue the officer that unlawfully entered their home. Take this to the courts again and get a settlement. It will help keep bad law enforcement in check.

They were telling the truth
When people lie their eyes go to the right side of the head and when they recall a memory it's to the left side (unless they are left handed - then it's reversed.)
That's how you can tell if you are being lied too. If the eyes travel to the right they are creating the story. To the left...recalling a memory.
The cop also broke the law by breaking down the door of the home and harassment. He broke protocol as well by perusing the suspect into a area where the man could have been armed. he's lucky he wasn't shot.
The law had been overturned by the supreme court and was no longer valid. they tried to arrest him on an unconstitutional law. They have a case to sue the pants off the police.

My method is employing truth. When I think someone is lying, I rephase to when if it is true what I say, they will laugh.. they can't help it because truth can be very funny, it's what many comdians use to write jokes..
I also think, sometimes people share lies they believe to be truths, so I don't know if the looking to the left or right works in thta if someone believe a lie they are sharing, they would look right, and YOU would think "truth", eh?

The cop was WAY out of line, but the fact that the city cop stopped to check in on them because it is a sign of distress should have told them to take it down. Put up the "Don't Tread On Me" flag or some other revolutionary war flag and they could have made their point without the hassle.

Look at them while they tell the story. I'm not saying it's not true, I just don't believe a word coming out of their mouths. They are doing ALL the signs of people who are lying---really bad. I know it's a nice story and that's why everyone accepts it. I made a fake video once too, it went viral quick. A lot of people were very mad when I revealed how easily fooled they are. There's a lot of people seeking attention and there's a new easy way to get it.
