First time I have heard that. I don't watch tv and I don't care for or about Sanford since he is a CFR guy. I still don't quite understand how he can be so Libertarian sounding and be a CFR guy, but that is his problem I guess and maybe South Carolina's. Maybe he is just a right leaning neocon. I don't know. I don't care.

To non-Californians Arnold is a punchline
who didnt tighten his state's belt fast enough to stave off bankruptcy- BUT he is so damned charming, that if there was some cataclysmic, polarizing event that he could pull a "Guliani" with- then yeah- he may very well win the cult of personality beauty pageant of '12 ( despite having been born in Austria).

This is not the first time such erroneous reporting has emanated from this person.
Always citing the "Russian foreign ministry" as the lone source. This style of reporting is a bigger joke than the BlackJack fiasco.
This is the same tabloid reporter who had officials inside "the Russian Foreign Ministry" back in October of 2008 who said former President Bush would halt the elections.
Seriously, while our government may be full of crooks and liars, not everything is a fantastic story of international intrigue.

I classified the sorcha story in two ways: "fairy tale" and "WTF."
It deserves a WTF because it was NOT promoting the hiking story, and reported this before his car was found at the airport.
I asked NO one to believe anything, I rarely do. I bring things that seem interesting, and have faith in the folks here to use their own critical thinking capacity.

Clearly spells out the Lt. Governor comes into charge if the governor is "missing for an emergency". Sanford did not have to "get permission" or "check in" with anyone if he did not want to, although it may have been prudent for him to do so.

Sanford could have left as nothing been said, eh? He has a right to privacy. So, that's what makes me bothered by this MSM announcement. It's setting a precident.
I am really bothered by Arnold. Not just what he is doing to CA in the name of the GOP, and with Democratic party leadership backing him 100% and he backing Obama 100%... I KNOW, and I think everyone here in CA knows Arnold wants to be president, and for me SCButterfly, I think CA needs more a Ron Paul type gov. That's me. And I would like for the RP rEVOLution to be STRONG in Cali, but it's exceptionally weak for such a HUGE state, with 156 electoral votes,, the Neocons are stronger than ever under Arnold and Hollywood preparing for 2012... I feel it here everyday.... I can see Arnold doing what Sanford did... he does all the time, but it's not mentioned... and if it was, it would bother me for the same reason.

He made a point before he left
that the SC governorship (and the other 49 states as well) had been neutered (my words not his) and SC is truly ruled by the SC Supreme Court and other interests etc etc. Perhaps this was a "you don't miss the water til the well runs dry" type of "maybe the governor does have some power after all" incident.
This man has been hounded to pieces by all the crybabies down here....the "un-Ron Paul Republicans" are all over him like white on rice as well.

So what do people on here think: Was he getting away from the elite group or going to meet them?
Personally I think if it was either case...
he would be alibi-ready. That is to say he'd have all his ducks in a row. It would have been easy to simply say "Im going hiking- take all my calls.", then call the "man who would be gov" and tell him he'll be back in a few days. That would totally keep the media out of it. Personally I think its something seedy. Sex or blackmail. If he were dealing WITH the elites- he'd have his ass covered. If he was dealing AGAINST the elites, "THEY'D" have their ass covered. I think its going to turn out to be simple carnal desires crap.

His children's mother said he needed time away from the kids- but hadnt a clue where he was...Happy Father's Day. Either he's the worst dad of the year- or some well-laid plan blew up and left him with his pants down. I think its safe to assume that whatever happened- he didnt mean for it to turn out with him being AWOL. He could have od'd on cocaine and been admitted anonamously in a detox center for all we know. This mess seems a bit too scattered to be kept a big secret for very long. My guess is that the whole truth will be sorted and publicized by mid-July.
