BIG BROTHER IN BASEL:
ARE WE TRADING OUR NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY FOR FINANCIAL STABILITY?

Ellen Brown, June 22nd, 2009

Buried on page 83 of the 89-page Report on Financial Regulatory Reform issued by the U.S. Administration on June 17 is a recommendation that the new Financial Stability Board strengthen and institutionalize its mandate to promote global financial stability. Financial stability is a worthy goal, but the devil is in the details. The new global Big Brother is based in the Bank for International Settlements, a controversial institution that raises red flags among the wary . . . .

“Big Brother” is the term used by George Orwell in his classic novel 1984 for the totalitarian state that would lock into place in the year of his title. Why he chose that particular year is unclear, but one theory is that he was echoing Jack London’s The Iron Heel, which chronicled the rise of an oligarchic tyranny in the United States. In London’s book, the oligarchy’s fictional wonder-city, fueled by oppressed workers, was to be completed by 1984. Orwell also echoed London’s imagery when he described the future under Big Brother as “a boot stamping on a human face – forever.” In Secret Records Revealed: The Men, the Money, and the Methods Behind the New World Order (1999), Dr. Dennis Cuddy asked:

“Could the ‘boot’ be the new eighteen-story Bank for International Settlements (BIS) which was completed in Basel, Switzerland, in 1977 in the shape of a boot, and became known as the‘Tower of Basel’?”

The boot-like shape of the building is strange enough to be thought-provoking (see photo), but more disturbing is the description by Dr. Carroll Quigley of the pivotal role assigned to the BIS in consolidating financial power into a few private hands.

Financial Terrorism

John McManus, Prez of the JBS, wrote a book in 1993, called "Financial Terrorism: Hijacking America under threat of Bankruptcy"

The book is now out of print but it explains in detail this topic.

He was dead on 16 years ago, it's coming to pass now.

What gets me about this

Is the term NWO. I brought up this term over a year ago at a Town Hall meeting and was immediately called out as a conspiracy theorist and named in the paper for being such. It took me awhile to find UN Agenda 21 (and Freedom 21) and it is this what made me understand YES we are trading our nation for "financial securty", which is a mandate in UN Agenda 21. We need to call it what it is UN AGENDA 21.. not the NWO.

Like the word marijuana, NWO, Chemtrails, 911 truth,,, these are all MISLEADERS.. CANNABIS, Contrail Clouds, UN AGENDA 21, 911 Justice as what we need to address to find, Liberty, Freedom and Independence from corrupt leaders selling we the people out in the name of GREEN and sustainable development. We need to unite to stop accepting the blame those guilty of destroying the earth, not do in the name of people.

This is my fight. I don't blame people. I blame corruption of SOME people, who should be in prison, not getting the money transfered from the fed (Big brother) to the IMF (Big Daddy).

WE ARE GOING TO WIN!

And these are the"leaders" we want to support?

This is rape and pillage with no accountability.
"They" owe us the money.
Just because a person has money, doesn't mean he can do whatever they want without consequences.
It is said the people must pay off the deficit.
However, due to "government mis-management" lies to the public, treason, WTO, IMF and of course, "banksters" act in total abandon concerning the respect of the environment.
It is political corporatism and the UN that owes the people's of the world thousands of trillions of dollars for extincting 90% of the oceans, 80% of the living things and creatures of North America extinct, and over 30% of reef zones throughout the world are dead.

And these are the "leaders" we want to support?

"They" owe us for breaking growth caps and abandoning protections of the environmental species,
which this trend of "arrogant ignorance" rapidly raping and pillaging the planet, and leaving the "clean-up" to the people.

And never forget, “Humans, despite our artistic pretensions, our sophistication and many accomplishments, owe the fact of our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.”

Not Voters - Fans

Bobby, I think you nailed it in your reply below. To most Americans politics is just like sports. Yankee fan - Red Sox fan. Republican - Democrat. It's all the same. They're cheering for a team instead of trying to influence the process.

I agree--I was surprised the paper printed that,

I mean the "inflation tax" and all. The article also plugged a book called "The Revolution: A Manifesto" by some Ron Paul guy

Trading soveriegnty for financial security? Hardly.

Trading sovereignty for a hi-def TV and a 6 pack. Now shut up and leave me alone, there is a game on...

Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

Yep--here I am quoted in a local newspaper on this issue

"I also urge local people to get involved in the political process and be sure to register to vote. People often hear me lamenting the fact that many Americans will complain and get extremely angry over paying a $3 ATM fee to “get their own money,” but those same people will not write their representatives in Washington to complain about the income tax or the inflation tax or big bank bailouts. I try to get the average citizen to get as excited about the political process and contacting Congress as he or she would about watching the Gators or Bulldogs play. The former could have a real impact in their lives. while the latter is just entertainment. “Change” was the big word last election, but how many people really get involved to try to effectuate change in D.C.?"
