Ten Reasons I Wouldn't Invite Glenn Beck to DailyPaul
1. Because he seems to be aware of and educating many Americans about facts and issues critical to the liberty movement, that are ignored by just about every one else in the mainstream media.
2. Because he is growing in popularity and credibility with the American public every day (unlike many of us).
3. Because he is being dismissed as a kook and marginalized by many of the same MSM that ridiculed Ron Paul.
4. Because he acknowledges that he has ALREADY been given death threats and unearned, bitter criticism from people CLAIMING to be Ron Paul supporters.
5. Because he continues to receive gratuitous and relentless criticism from people on this website even while HE IS PROMOTING OUR POSITIONS AND BELIEFS in front of MILLIONS of previously clueless Americans.
6. Because he could be ENORMOUSLY helpful to our movement, even if his knowledge never grew another iota and if he only continued to speak about the same issues he has recently championed.
7. Because he has never asked for nor been offered a position of leadership in our movement and so should not be held to the same level of scrutiny that we give to those that have.
8. Because he is only human, might be as sincere as he seems to be (to me), and could learn to be an even greater asset to our movement in the future.
10. Because so many people already find him to be entertaining AND credible, he WILL either be a powerful friend or a dangerous enemy to our movement.
10. And because he is only human and might let the continued criticism on this website further sour and distort his impressions of Ron Paul, his supporters, and the Campaign for Liberty.
I know none of these will make the slightest difference to the truly committed Beck-bashers on DP, I thought it would be worth going on record with something POSITIVE about a person who AT LEAST deserves another chance to become our friend and ally.

Precisely the point. When
Precisely the point. When you wake up to true Founding Father Constitutional conservatism, and you realize that Ron Paul was the closest to those principles, the fraudsters are EASY to spot.
Rush Limbaugh would not talk about RP during the campaign other than to call him a kook. Now, after the election, Rush says and "there's our guy" grilling Bernanke talking about RP. It is such an obvious fraud that Rush is just trying to bring the conservatives back to the Republican party.
Beck called RP supporters kooks, and now he's trying to pull the same bull.
I could go on and on, Hannity, Weiner, Oreilly, etc. They are all frauds.
Napolitano appears to be the only exception I've found.
I listened to Glen Beck for over 15 years
and he helped to wake me up...but not in the way you would think.
When Ron Paul REALLY woke me up to what had been taking place I tuned into Glen Beck because I thought surely he would be supporting this one true conservative running for president. Of course you know the rest of the story on that one.
That made me look at Glen Beck in a whole new light...now a days IF I tune into his show on the radio the spin is pretty obvious to me.
He serves one purpose and that is to keep the people from fully waking up.
Don't get me wrong...
I don't claim to know everything GB says.
I don't listen to or watch his shows.
I see enough from the videos on the DP to know that he is doing some good and does not deserve the trash talk he gets here.
There is a huge difference between being disappointed in someone and calling them a "judas goat" or a traitor.
And it is an even bigger stretch to assume that you know he would be a threat to our movement.
One thing IS for sure, the gratuitous and relentless criticism he receives on the DP does not speak well for our tolerance, fairness, or political wisdom.
And it sure would turn ME off to Ron Paul and the Campaign For Liberty if I came here as a Glenn Beck fan.
And if you don't think THAT is important, then I rest my case.

We must not forget that he is probably limited in some ways and
fed information that he has to withold or spew forth depending on what his higher ups say. We cannot forget he still has a boss, and that he may be saying all he is allowed to, and as far as the stuff he says that we don't like, he might be forced to say these things also. By forced, I mean through the means of money and job loss if he does not follow the routine. I think one thing Fox is realizing is, is that the truth can bring you great ratings as long as you are willing to say it. See Fox, thought they had to mold to the government so they would get fed the stories, now I think they are realizing that if they hunt down their own that they can actually get the real story. It takes time, and let's not forget that they may not have realized how bad it was getting either until we came along and enlightened them. I have nothing against Beck, because I have no idea what he is up against. We have to accept what he is doing because it may be all he can do, and we need all the help we can get. So, I agree with the poster above, especially that Beck could become dangerous so let's keep an eye and a short leash on him.
Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must. like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.-Thomas Paine
The R3volution requires action, not observation!!!!
I watch Beck each day but
he has some serious inconsistencies in what he believes. To support the unconstitutional war machine while attacking the Fed is ludicrous. It is the fiat money the enables the war to continue without the people immediately feeling the weight of it. Glen Beck's foreign policy is destroying our country. He is good on some other issues but he does not see the big picture or is afraid to call it what it is. Keynesian militarism. Expand spending, expand empire, expand debt, always growing larger and feeding on destruction and death.

Smell Testing
I Don’t Watch TeeVee ... ( I find it helps qualify my perceptions)
... but I’ve seen a few things on youtube aired on Beck's show that, IMO were useful to the cause, so on that matter I think you have a point: We should cautiously acknowledge what we witness to be positive.
But when you say: “ ... he is only human, might be as sincere as he seems to be (to me)...”, I think you step in it and it’s fair for concerned members of this household to voice their opinion ( adamantly, if necessary ... with waving of arms, and excited tones ) to alert you, and others interested, before you unwittingly track in that which smells bad and might stain.
I suspect many of the good souls that populate this movement ( but certainly most of the general public) are ill prepared to accept the reality of how the pathological function to entrap.
I see evidence in this circus performer that supports those who are sounding the alarm; and the pattern strikes me as warranting scepticism, to say the least.
You may say it’s cynicism that urges pause here. I think it’s discernment. I admit we are both starting from the premise of pragmatism. For me publicity and positive propaganda, however, are lesser priorities than developed scepticism and practiced critical thinking to the sustained achievement of our mutual goals.

‘Falsus in uno’ .... well, ........ doesn’t prove the point, ( see: http://truthtables.blogspot.com/2006/06/faulty-generalizatio...) but I submit, at a minimum, raised eyebrows are justified where the judas goat risk is not merely imagined to affect people as yet too accustomed to following.
While I don't agree with Beck on everything
his views and my views are closer than any other commentator. He has a camera, mic and a large audience and speaks a lot about the issues that concern the Liberty movement.
Thomas Jefferson once said, "The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground."

In case you hadn't noticed
no one needs an invitation to come to DailyPaul.
It is very narrow minded for anyone to allow themselves to be influenced by the "support" for another person. What I do has NO reflection on Dr. Paul whatsoever and it is stupid to say that it does. Stupid.
Anyone who listens closely to Beck will very soon see that he will steer anyone he can to a neocon CFR candidate when the time comes to vote. Until then, he will sound like the best of patriots to try to win as many over as possible. Beck calls Dr. Paul a Libertarian-no, he does not call him a libertarian type Republican. Beck wants no one to think of Dr. Paul as "leader of the GOP."
Oh, btw, he is here all the time. How else to you think he gets his material.
How about this..
You stop worrying about pathetic, cult of personality figureheads and start taking your beliefs to the streets. Glen Beck is a lying judas goat who's only purpose is to divert patriots and weaken the message. Every time I see that idiot rub an onion into his eye and cry on tv, I can barely contain the vomit that rises from my throat. I hope he never comes to his site and I hope all of his sheep stay away too.

And of course we know that YOU are sincere (?!?)
I'm sure glad to know that YOU can tell what is in someone's heart by watching a video.
It is so much easier to tell if someone is honest just by reading their comments on an online forum.

I respectfully
disagree, spacehabitats. I think it's a shame that people no longer TRUST their gut reactions. I still haven't totally made up my mind about Beck, but I recall the first time I watched him FAKE CRYING.
It didn't exactly make me trust him, ya know... What else is he faking, ya know. Just what verbalizations he makes are REAL, ya know...

1. I'll give him the credit
1. I'll give him the credit for bringing up the Fed. He used to be a lot better about it.
2. Faux news has no credibility, and he lost what little he had with educated americans when he went there
3. He's dismissed as a kook by the far far left, but dismissed as a piece of garbage by anyone else.
4. Probably lies.
5. He will hijack those positions and guide those "enlightened" followers of his towards the next neocon dirtbag. Probably Palin.
6. True as far as Republicans go, but its damaging to have our views be seen as Faux's views with independants and democrats.
7. He gets the same amount of scrutiny as any member of the media.
8. He's hijacking our views, he has no intention of joining our movement.
9. Its true that he could sway the neo-con hillbillies to our side
10. The criticisms are valid.
by the way, most of your "points" justify no criticism of anyone.

Well, maybe you shouldn't invite him then I guess
On second thought, send him over. I have a few questions for him.
Explore Orthodox Christianity
we all do, but we should let it go, its in the past
we need him to go big for us, we dont need to tear him apart
Telling the truth is not "tearing him apart."
He has accused me of being a terrorist on several occasions now. If he would like to start with some retractions, I will give him a chance. So far, he looks to me like "controlled opposition."
If you lay down with dogs, you will get up with fleas.

Same here.
Beck has had ample opportunity to issue retractions/apologies to the Ron Paul movement, and has chosen not to do so.
I will stop insulting him, calling him 'Chuckles the Clown', the day after he issues said retractions/apologies, and at that point, I MIGHT consider taking him seriously. Not until.

You would not believe the language that came out of my mouth when I watched him on CNN during the primaries, I think I put entire sentences together with just curses.
He absolutely railroaded Ron Paul. I question his integrity, but I also realize that we don't have anyone on a national stage, speaking truth to power, he is the best we have, I suggest we embrace it and leave our past issues with him for another day, today we need all the help we can get
agree
anyone with a major audiance like this, who speaks the way he does is championing our cause. If he keeps this up, we have no choice but to embrace our biggest microphone, no matter what we felt in the past. A little pragmatism goes a long way, especially when we've been playing catch up for a long time, whatever it takes.
He should not be getting death threats from Ron paul supporters, it makes us all look bad, maybe we should send him a card?
The only card I would send would probably say.....
Nobody believes you, you pathetic CIA op. Your 50 million dollars won't buy you a cooler place in hell.
