Does Anyone Care Right Now About North Korea Saying They're Going to Nuke U.S. ???

I thought it was interesting no one was talking about this on here. I don't want to go to war with North Korea nor be nuked by them. How about you?

Are you kidding? Why is that

Are you kidding? Why is that important? Michael Jackson died today!! Jeez, get your priorities straight!!!!

Depends where they put it. Washington D.C. you might not....

get a lot of people complaining. (Okay, bad joke).

No one wants N. Korea to bomb us, but I think most of the people that come to this site realize the odds of N. Korea actually doing it are slim to none. Most of us would be more ready to believe our own government would nuke us, either accidentally or otherwise.

Nope... I could care less...

I worry more about getting a ticket for no "inspection" on my truck from "my" local "police"... (which is not a whole lot of worry)

And by the way, those aren't the only choices... Nice, though, the way you framed the question with one of two possible outcomes... Just sayin'...

I may be way off base here but

I see NK as showing defensive behavior which leads me to think that, as usual, there are things going on that we don't know about. If pressure is being applied behind the scenes in some way, it would explain the defensiveness, not wholly but enough to reach a level of understanding. Don't forget that North Korea, Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, and Iraq (up until we took out Saddam) are the only countries that do not have a Rotschild-controlled central bank. They are a very small country and wouldn't stand a chance against a superpower. I don't think they would actually attack us. I think they are under alot of pressure that we aren't seeing.

This subject smells like propaganda to keep our forces in

South Korea. Think about it. Just months ago both North and South Korea were talking and opening rail travel between their countries. Things were looking very positive except this thaw in relations was undermining our justification for being there in South Korea. "But, no, we can't let Ron Paul win on this issue," said the higher ups. "Let's pay North Korea to act tough and create a 'false flag' operation. This should keep our troops over there for a few more years." All agreed.

It concerns me...

...but it is by no means the first time the DPRK has made such a threat. Every few years DPRK makes threats of wiping countries (including the U.S.) off of the map. I remember a few years back, DPRK was threatening to "incinerate the earth", solidifying it with, "there can be no earth without North Korea." It's just being much more highly publicized this time around - perhaps for fear mongering... perhaps as another tool to say, "give up more of your liberties so we can protect you"... perhaps it will be used as the excuse they've been looking for to declare martial law... perhaps they really want to provoke the DPRK this time. Who knows? But such threats are nothing new.

North Korea is a pesky mosquito

North Korea is small, has few weapons and are pretty much all talk. This nonsense about firing a missile at Hawaii is a bluff. It'll be shot down before it gets over deep water, if it even makes it off the launch pad.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if they made a move on South Korea. That would be harder for the U.S. to stop.

They are just nuts. Then again, so are so many governments around the world these days, that the loonies are running the show.

They always bluster when

They always bluster when they want money.

I think I am

numb from everything that is happening.

The duel! This is just one over thousands of miles. Except we probably have a couple subs loaded with nukes just off the coast of the Asian continent somewhere. Our missile defense systems is probably good enough to tag one of these skuds out of NK.

Basically NK has one really shady bullet in its pistol, we got a full mag with a higher caliber. They shoot they die regardless if they miss, betting that shady bullet doesn't make its mark.

I hope you're right, but

Our missile defense systems have never been proven to work, it's just another pet project for the congressman's friends to get rich off

If you want a detailed review of how pitiful our systems are, please refer to Chalmers Johnson's book "Nemesis"

Audio book is available, I listened to it on my drive across country, took up a good 5 or 6 hours, well worth the listen

Somehow I find it hard to believe...

Somehow I find it hard to believe that we don't have one good enough to hit the NK missile down. I will admit my research on NK's capabilities and our missile defense system is pretty weak. I am missing from the patriot missile tech and its scalability.

I also think we may have a few drones in the area with satellites examining everything too, maybe we could detect the launch early...don't know.

I am just speculating. While I dislike the government and have no faith in its ability to do a lot of things. It can still inflate and kill. Missile defense seems much more logical than having 700 bases around the world. There is going to always be cronism in government and missile defense is one thing I would actually support us spending cash on...vs policing the world.

Eitherway I still say NK doesn't scare me...I don't live on the west coast.

As long as its not New York

Like geez every single time there's some type of destruction or chaos in movies or something its always new york getting destroyed.

but seriously though- all of us here already know the solution to the north korea problem- bring all troops home from south korea and engage in friendly trade with north korea and keep the relationship to just that. as long as we stop interefering in the area we'll be fine. Who are we to decide who gets to have nuclear weapons or not? We're the only ones that have ever used them(on civilians no less!)

Plutonium...

Pu 239 is a very nasty isotope. The tiny bomb dropped on Nagasaki killed 200,000 individuals. The bombs that are in storage today are 100 times more powerful. They would make the Nagi bomb look like an M80 in comparision. No one really knows if NK has this type of firepower in their arsenal. Perhaps it's all bark. If someone here can confirm that NK has nuclear generated electricity then it's a guarantee that they possess Pu 239 for it is a byproduct of nuclear power plants.

Always be on the alert for "false flag" operations. They are quite popular in government circles.

I for one am not scared

If they try they will probably fail, we will nuke them. If they do we will nuke them. lose lose. They probably won't, and we will ship the free sh*&.lose lose for us to. Seems out government's foreign policy f%$#*s us again.

Oh....that's just kim being kim...

I wager that the U.S.and a coalition of the bribed will ship kim some wheat, some oil, and some freshly printed Federal Reserve IOU's and he will go away until the next election....Seriously, if kim was mental enough to challenge the U.S. to a death match, one of kim's generals would take him out. Not everybody in N. Korea is suicidal.

Does North Korea

even possess nuclear armed ICBM's? If they don't, then no I don't care. If a nuke were to go off you can bet it would be brought to you by the folks who did 9/11. They will promptly blame it on North Korea, Iran, Syria, and China and kick off WW3.

No.

Can't do much about it.

I'd rather donate to YAL than worry about North Korea.

well.. the last time we fought NK it was a tie.

We lost a lot of good men in that war. We were a dominant SUPER POWER then as well. So for all those saying it is NO BIG DEAL,,,

We also LOST the Vietnam War.

We beat Japan because we NUKED EM!

So our record in the Pacific is 1-1-1

Our forces are stretched around the world. A War with NK would cause a DRAFT in this country. Many many more good men and now women would die over there.

Our country is TOTALLY vulnerable right now.

Thus, NK is a big deal RIGHT NOW.

And what does Obama do. He goes on ABC to sell a multi trillion dollar healthcare scam.

North Korea is
