Corruption
There was definately dealing behind the scenes. You can read about this insane bill here:

Also a great article about it in the Telegraph:

another power grab and Tax scheme based on a lie that has been
ripped apart by over 31,000 american scientists. They have used the propaganda media to hide that fact and now they have done it. Total tyranny based on yet another lie .

Stop the NWO....It's just illumi..Naughty !
It's very simple really.
Select one of the most ubiquitous substances on planet earth(CO2), and develop plans to tax and control it.
It's like taxing anybody who uses air.
You can't get around it.
It encompasses everyone and everything.
If you use anything that produces CO2, or has produced CO2, or will produce CO2, as any form of emission, including electricity, etc, you will be monitored, and if you use more than "your share" that they define, you must buy "credits" from somebody else who uses less CO2.
And of course this "carbon credit trading" will be run thru Al Gore's "carbon trading company", and the gov't will get it's cut from every single carbon credit traded, and get a whole lot more in fines and will be able to start up massive new bureaucracies to enforce the madness on you.
And as far as I know, the money you pay for these credits can be sent to anybody who has been selected as "using less CO2" anywhere on the planet.
So, your carbon credits that you had to pay for, might result in the money going to somewhere in Ethiopia or Mongolia, or whatever.
Or even Israel.
So, it can be a massive global redistribution of money all over the planet, by taxing you to buy "credits" and sending the money elsewhere.
Cap and Trade = Institutionalized Coercion
Cap and trade is a central planning approach intended to control emissions (from coal, oil, gas, etc.) by providing economic incentives for achieving reductions in emissions. It is designed to reduce overall pollution. Simply put, government sets a limit (cap) on the amount of pollutants that can be emitted, then companies are issued emission permits which they can transfer (trade) to other companies who pollute less, thereby enabling them to output more emissions. In theory, those who can easily reduce emissions most cheaply will do so, achieving the pollution reduction at the lowest possible cost to society.
So—how well do government incentives work to engineer social, political or environmental change? I give you the housing crisis and the healthcare crisis as evidence that the theory does not match the implementation. Government incentives too often create unintended consequences that are far-reaching and almost unknowable.
Add to this a bill that exceeds 1,000 pages which no one read and you can just imagine the absurdity of believing this will create a positive net effect.
Thanks, Chord!!
I am all for less pollution...I don't have a problem with that part of all this. Like most everyone else, I want clean air to breathe, clean water to drink....etc. But, as President Reagan said, "the most frightening words are, 'I'm from the government, and I'm here to help' ".
Now, what can we do about all this? Call my friggin' Congressman? Yeah, that'll help get things changed!! LOL I can't seem to get any ideas other than torches and pitchforks and marching on a Congressional session and taking them all hostage!! Anyone have some good ideas on how to be effective?

Make the call
Calling your congressman may seem futile but it is a step in the right direction. Few people actually make these calls, so it is more potent than you might expect. Of course, more powerful are many calls, hence the movement towards organization. Groups such as Downsize DC are making a valiant effort towards this end and I recommend getting involved with similar organizations to make your voice heard.

Granger: Cap and Trade
Cap and Trade is a very interesting resolution. First, it prooves that what Obama was doing was in the plans before 911, which prooves 911 was a "democratic party/ Clintons, "inside job", to hurt Bush and to set the stage for goverbnment take over of corporations and then cap the level of opportuny for less trade... rendering the USA a third world for the UN Agenda 21 sustainable development.
Taxes is a red herring by neocons, always throwing a "sucker punch" to the left to impress the right... so saying you are against being taxed as your reason against C&T is a noble but ultimate waste of time.
Exxon Mobil, who profitted off the war, ius not in such great space under Obama administration as Bush.. so they have invested in this resolution. I don't own Exxon Mobil anything, and the propeganda they published against C&T was red herring, taxes.
Cap and Trade is going to make NAFTA and CAFTA look like the good old days, as Obama is making Bush, the good old days. C&T was put out there as controlled opposition. The fight is for healthcare in the majority and a very small but vocal resolution is spending it's time barking up a tree that is going to pass because the UN said so in UN Agenda 21

I've said this before here...
and got criticism from diety believers, "We [people] are a cancer on the earth." Anybody still in denial ?
You are welcome to speak for yourself.
And for yourself, it might very well be true.
Guilty, a tumor on the earth !
Homo esophagus ("the man who devours the ecosystem").
Not all Humans are a cancer
Not all Humans are a cancer on the earth- just the ones that use coercion and don't believe in property rights.
It is nothing more than
It is nothing more than another method and means to steal our property and power and conveys it to "them". We get poorer and they get richer.
Jobs Jobs Jobs Jobs
That's all you need to know. A task for every slave.
Actually is a scheme that allows polluters to buy the right to pollute more from those that pollute less. It's a big big big scam. It reminds me so much of "Indulgences" a la Catholic Church.

Sounds like...
"Take from Peter to pay Paul", spinning your wheels but going nowhere. Guess who Peter is ?
OH!!! Is this the bull-oney
OH!!! Is this the bull-oney about pollution "points" a company gets...and can sell off any extra points to someone more dirty? I remember hearing/reading about this a couple months ago-or-so. Sounded stupid then too....what a ponzi scheme it is!! Is there anything else in this C & T bill that's going to effect you and me directly?

Yes! there is something that will effect us all, I watched the House commitee of energy and commerce on c-span - 5-22-09 look it up in c-spans archives. These jokers think it's ok if EVERYTHING we buy our use, will increase 10% by 2010, and then even more increases by 2017, but they said it will cause people to consume less thus saving the planet.
Not legislatively, but residually
We'll feel it in the doubling of prices and in the cost of energy. I can get EXTRAORDINARY deals on grid-tie solar packages if anyone's intersted. And, I've already started selling renewable energy certificates. I've always resisted the urge to cash-in on the dumb crap the gov pulls, but this time, I'm going to.

What you described if something I said to my wife this morning.
She was asking for a brief description of Cap n Trade.
So I described as best as I could. then threw in the idea of a micro power company, complete with wind and solar power.
I also directed her to an episode of King of the Hill.
An episode titled "Earthy Girls are Easy"
A quote from the show
"Hank: What the heck is a carbon offset?
Dale: It's like a 'Get out of Jail Free Card' for people concerned about the environment, but not concerned enough to do actually do anything."
Mike, please send more information. My profile contains the correct address. Thanks!
