Ron Paul’s ‘Audit the Fed’ Bill Gathers Steam

He may have faded from the national political scene a year ago, after his dark-horse presidential run came to naught, but Rep. Ron Paul ’s influence is still being felt in campaigns and policy debates across the country. Indeed, the latest legislative priority of the libertarian Texas Republican — auditing the Federal Reserve — has gained support in unlikely quarters.

Paul’s legislation, popularly known as the “Audit the Fed” bill, has drawn 244 cosponsors, ranging from Ohio’s John A. Boehner , the conservative Republican floor leader, to Michigan’s John Conyers Jr. , the liberal Democratic chairman of the Judiciary Committee. Some Democrats have even picked up on Paul’s rhetoric. “It’s time to yank the shroud off the Fed and shine some light on these events,” New York Democrat Edolphus Towns , chairman of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said at a hearing last week about the shotgun marriage between Bank of America and Merrill Lynch last fall to stave off the latter’s collapse.

I agree

Ron Paul and his supporters have made incredible progress in the last three years. Just last summer many people didn't even know the name Ron Paul. That surely has changed. He is also rated now one of the most popular American congressmen around the world. All who are taking the time to become aware get involved and spread the word should pat themselves on the back. LIBERTY is brewing..

"I don't want to be in a battle . . . but
waiting on the edge of one I can't escape
is even worse"

"I have found that being rich is not about having the most but about needing the least"

Who has faded from the national political scene?

Anyone who has any scruples knows that Ron Paul has done everything but fade from the political scene. His popularity and strength in every way has increased ten fold at the least since the presidential election.
All the old steam media has to get him on their show to keep what ratings are remaining up.
Any person mentioning Ron Paul knows who he is and what he is about if they are able to read and click enter Ron Paul on the computer. Yes, there are many yet to reach but the message and the fire of Ron Paul is resonating beyond compare.
I will always have the caution light on when reading any publication from the old steam media propaganda news stands. Ron Paul would win by a land slide if he would decide to run for President. Momentum is on his side and truth is on his side, not to mention the millions up on millions that are marching along with him and counting.

Good point...

Two years ago not too many people were familiar with the name Ron Paul.

Today the good doctor is known (and loved) internationally.

Meanwhile where is Guilianni, Thompson, Hukabee, Romney and even McCain for that matter???

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

Nice to see it's the feature

Nice to see it's the feature story on the front page. Not only that, but right next to it is another article about Schiff doing polling in Connecticut about a possible senate run: http://blogs.cqpolitics.com/eyeon2010/2009/06/-schiff.html

Thanks! That really helped!

My Aunt is thirsty for libertarian knowledge. Everything I can show her helps a lot. Finding the simple, “starting point” stuff is kind of tough for me because I’ve been anti-Fed, pro-sound-money for thirty-some years.
