*VIP Update* - There Is No Deadline To Contact Reps!

don't get me wrong - call your reps and let them know how you
feel. let them know they need to be accountable for their actions.

and, i just spoke with daniel at ron paul's dc office. i wanted to be absolutely sure about the deadline.

the office has gotten alot of calls about it - bottom line -
there is NO deadline and the motion to reconsider is NOT valid.
once the house gavels the vote - IT IS A DONE DEAL!

(this info was posted by www.teapartypatriots.com because it was seen on C-SPAN.) C-SPAN was incorrect.

what needs to be done now is contact the SENATE. there are only 100 senators and we have a WEEK to do it.
we have July 4th weekend to do it.

please start melting the phones and CALL - CALL THEM ALL!

WE HAVE A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY here. we have this week while they are on vacation.

we can beat them as their own game if we do this!

THIS RESOLUTION MUST BE STOPPED!

Congressman Flake Criticizes Cap and Trade Bill
Bill Is More About Generating Revenue than Climate Change

Washington, D.C., Jun 26 -

Republican Congressman Jeff Flake, who represents Arizona’s Sixth District, criticized the cap and trade bill that passed today.

“The last thing a fragile economy needs is a new energy tax, yet that’s essentially what this cap and trade bill is,” said Flake. “This bill is more about generating revenue for the federal government than it is about addressing climate change.”

Unfortunately, Congressman Flake was unable to vote on the bill due to a family obligation. Congressman Flake’s daughter was Arizona’s representative in the America’s Junior Miss scholarship program, and Congressman Flake and his wife were there supporting her.

“Obviously, it was a tough decision to miss voting against the cap and trade bill. But I’ve let my daughter down enough over the years, and I felt I just couldn’t let her down again.”

Had he been able to vote, he would have voted against the bill. Unless it is changed substantially, Congressman Flake will vote against the cap and trade conference report when it comes back to the House.

"...vote against the C&T conference report when it comes back to the House?" huh? What is that about?

Use VOIP when you do it.....

You don't want FILTHY scum in Washington D.C. knowing even who you really are or why you're calling, so use a Voice over IP program, hide your IP address if you see fit, do it how we all do it.

Then you're as good as golden to BLAST THEM FROM EVERY HILLSIDE and hopefully stop this legislation dead in its tracks. By the way nobody controls these VOIP companies...

No certain foreign nations or companies or services are allowed to get inside these VOIP companies, which leaves you completely on the outside, free to say what you really want....

At least my representative has been against cap & destroy.

He actually urged people to bug reps about c&t, providing phone numbers & addresses. I was kind proud of him.

If the Senate changes any

If the Senate changes any part of the bill, then approves it It must go back to the House to be voted on again.

So in addition to calling your Senators keep up the pressure on your reps.

One of the things elected officials give great weight to, is a voter's short memory. Therefore, you need to let them know they can't count on that this time. That the names of all those who voted for this bill are all over the Internet. And if they vote aye on this bill they might want to dust off their resume, because they will be joining the ranks of the unemployed come Nov 2010.

Skype is indeed a nice tool

Even though I live abroad in China, I still call my Rep. frequently through Skype.

Time for me to stop putting it off.

The Skype setup executable has been sitting idle on my [I] drive for maybe a year or two.

called mine and asked for the constitutional justification for a yes vote on the the 'cap and trade' bill as well if he read the bill before voting. My understanding is it was over 1000 pages and not released until 3am day of vote.

lets politely get them on the ropes.

we need a take action thread
