Racist Sotomayor Reversed By Supreme Court

0 votes

Even the supreme court couldn't stomach the blatant racial discrimination involved in the Ricci vs. New Haven case.

WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--The U.S. Supreme Court, voting 5-4 in a case that has been a lightning rod for high court nominee Sonia Sotomayor, invalidated a Connecticut city's decision to scrap the results of a firefighter promotion exam in which the white candidates scored better than their black peers.

http://online.wsj.com/article/BT-CO-20090629-713183.html

In rendering the opinion that the supreme court reversed, Sotomayor basically used the logic that (despite all of the evidence to the contrary) the New Haven firefighter's exam HAD TO BE RACIALLY BIASED simply because only two Hispanics and no blacks scored high enough to be promoted. End of story.

The IQ-deniers continue to ignore the fact that on average African-Americans score lower than Caucasians on standardized tests no matter how much effort is made to make them racially and culturally unbiased!

This inconvenient truth undercuts 40 years of unconstitutional meddling into every aspect of American society to root out ubiquitous and, I contend, non-existent racism.

Unfortunately, once Sotomayor ascends to the throne, there will no longer be anyone in a position to reverse her.

Heaven help the truth (and the Constitution) then.

This says it all....

I fear that there will be an attack on this decision or a quick replacement of some kind as this administration needs "division" to further it's social engineering agenda.........

Supreme Court

IT is about time the Court gets some teeth.. Any person that openly states that they will use their lifestyle to influence interpritation of the Constitution, does not have a clue what interpritation is all about ..
Interpritation of LAW begs to leave your lifestyle at the door ...The LAW is the LAW ..YES the legislature can change the law through proper proccess but until that happens , the law says what it says..These persons went to the same schools with the same teachers & the same laws..They should ALL have the same interpritation if they are not alowing outside influence...SIMPLE
you-no

As far as we know....

She could still "come out", then she would be completely untouchable.

RE: We cannot afford a biased bigot on the Supreme Court!

Bigots come in all colors, whether they are White, Black, Asian, Mexican, or Latino.

Sotomayor has proven herself to be what’s wrong with this country. She is clearly a racial bigot, with a female gender bias.

Her statement that a Latino woman like herself could make better decisions from the bench than her WHITE male counterparts is an outrageougely racially, and gender biased statement.

Her decision to belong to an exclusive WOMANS ONLY CLUB, reveals a mindset more than anything else, and such a mindset is seldom gender friendly.

Her decision NOT to even hear the Fireman’s appeal when brought before her court is further proof of racially biased decisions.

Even though the Supreme Court had a split decision of 5-4. All 9 Justices went ON the RECORD and spoke out UNAMIOUSLY on ONE point. That the lower court (Sotomayor written decision) was DEAD wrong, when they (she) refused to even hear the Fireman’s case.

There comments seem unusual, when you take into account that all 9 Supreme Court Justices knew Sotomayor was the Author of the lower court’s written decision. And they also know she has been Nominated to the Supreme Court.

I believe ALL nine Justices are telling us something here, ..maybe as simple as Sotomayor makes bad decisions from the bench (or worse she biased and bigoted), and should not be on the Supreme Court.

Why do I think this? Because seven of her lower court decisions were appealed to the Supreme Court, with no less than SIX out of the SEVEN being reversed by the Supreme Court. In the real world, that is a terrible batting average, and you would NOT be allowed on the team.

In my opinion, Sotomayor is CLEARLY a biased BIGOT, both in the area of gender and race. We do not need this kind of crap on the Supreme Court!

The Winds of Change!

Excellent points!

The fact that Obama would even nominate such a blatant and unapologetic bigot for the highest judicial office in the land shows what desperate times we live in.

I am glad to see the interest in this ruling.

It deserves this and more because this issue comes very close to exposing a number of the Big Lies that are at the heart of the political insider's strategy to destroy the middle class, polarize their opposition (along racial lines), and justify endless unconstitutional intrusions into our affairs.

We lost it with affirmative

We lost it with affirmative action.

And if Martin Luther King believed in the words he spoke in his I have a dream speech. I seriously doubt he would have been in favor of affirmative action. Although, I could be and if so, his words were just that nothing more words.

Wouldn't it be nice if we did live a nation where character was something to be valued, especially in the halls of our government?

But I guess that's still a dream

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I agree that hiring should be "color-blind"....

And that is the whole point.
The Sotomayor ruling (and 99% of the federal civil rights legislation) requires EVERYONE (including every public and private sector employer) to be exquisitely sensitive to racial differences; sometimes to a ridiculous extent.

I knew a guy who qualified for a government program because he was 1/8th Japanese. 1/8th?!?!? Even after he told me I couldn't see it. If anyone had ever discriminated against him they wouldn't have been a bigot, they would have been psychic.

But it was on the form he had to fill out, and the benefits were automatic.

If THAT isn't institutionalized racial bigotry what would YOU call it?
But I am sure Sotomayor would have no problem with it.

(By the way, the Japanese are one of the ethnic groups that tend to score HIGHER than Caucasians on IQ tests. Just a little irony there.)
