Breaking News: German Constitutional Court stops Lisbon Treaty Ratification

As I know some of you are interested in European liberty affairs:
I just got the news in Germany our Federal Constitutional Court has ruled that the laws incorporating the treaty into German law are partly unconstitutional. This is the second heavy blow to the treaty since the Irish Referendum. Apparently the German members of parliament now got their holidays cancelled to "repair" the damage.
I will keep you informed.

I know I was off-DP for a while, but I will come back now.

Thanks Colognepaulist

This is a great news.
As a french citizen, I've been following their attempt to establish a European Constitution closely.

However, they will find a way around it.

They ignored the Dutch and the French NO result in 2005.
They ignored the Irish result of last year.

They will most probably modify your Constitution.
In France they modified ours so this treaty could be ratified.

It is their "European Empire".

"Sometimes I like to compare the EU as a creation to the organisation of empire." - J.M. Barroso, President of the European Commission

Thank you for the Info

This is important information....!

Update coming soon

Maybe my headline was too enthusiastic. But here are many spin-doctors at work now and one has to check the written ruling. It seems the court has (again) drawn some line into the sand, but the mainstream politicians will manage to repair the law so far that Germany can ratify the treaty before the new Irish referendum.

NPR Reported the Oppositte

I wonder who is full of BS?
NPR has also been reporting the plaintiffs in the New Haven discrimination case are all white, when I know damn well one of them is latino, but it doesn't fit in with their agenda, so they leave it out. I usually catch them lying or omitting facts daily. Nationalized Propaganda Radio

Good job Germany! You're making US patriots proud!

Slowly, razor cuts bleed them into futility.

America, do not give up your guns and be an activist for respect of all living things and creatures, and that no one be sacrificed at the alter of any government or ideology. The arrogant rhino and fear monger of corporate paranoia will herd you into the catagory of cows.

And never forget, “Humans, despite our artistic pretensions, our sophistication and many accomplishments, owe the fact of our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.”

Good people make the difference,you-no

That is great news

Europeans (along with any sensible individuals anywhere) ought to be heavily wary of unaccountable central authorities.

Lissabon=Lisbon?

.

"Lissabon=Lisbon?"

yes ;)

good news

This is good news for state/country sovereignty. With the economic problems, we may see more push-back from Germans because Germany is being asked to support other countries such as Ireland and Spain...

I am very much interested

I am very much interested and am a big fan of UKIP. Keep it coming!
