Breaking News: German Constitutional Court stops Lisbon Treaty Ratification

This is a great news.
As a french citizen, I've been following their attempt to establish a European Constitution closely.

However, they will find a way around it.

They ignored the Dutch and the French NO result in 2005.
They ignored the Irish result of last year.

They will most probably modify your Constitution.
In France they modified ours so this treaty could be ratified.

It is their "European Empire".

Maybe my headline was too enthusiastic. But here are many spin-doctors at work now and one has to check the written ruling. It seems the court has (again) drawn some line into the sand, but the mainstream politicians will manage to repair the law so far that Germany can ratify the treaty before the new Irish referendum.

Europeans (along with any sensible individuals anywhere) ought to be heavily wary of unaccountable central authorities.

This is good news for state/country sovereignty. With the economic problems, we may see more push-back from Germans because Germany is being asked to support other countries such as Ireland and Spain...
