Al Franken

I'm very pleased to see he prevailed in the Senate seat. I'm glad it's not politics as usual for him & he brings a fresh approach to WDC. It's very very refreshing to see someone w/ no political experience, whose never held office before be elected. Congratulations to us, we have a new mind in the Senate. It doesn't seem like he can be bought out. Someone ought to offer him a blog spot on this website, on CFL. It would sure be nice to have a Ron Paul in the Senate, or we could start a new trend & call him Al Franken.

Good people make the difference, you-no

Smart

I started paying attention to the Franken - Coleman election while reading the local papers at the C4L convention. I ended up watching two of the debates between the 3 Minnesota senatorial candidates. I may disagree with Franken on any number of issues, but he is well informed and very intelligent. I think he may end up being the 'Denis Kucinich' of the senate, and that will be a good thing for America.

Another zio

Franken did not get to where he is by himself...

Whomever owns Al Franken will certainly expect his help in particular ways. Franken is a socialist-bent, left-leaning liberal.

Why the celebration?

Hoorah!

I think it's great that the Senate finally has a member who is an admitted comedian, although I would have preferred a funny one. What I really want is a law that would require every senator to wear enormous yellow and red clown shoes. Perhaps Senator Franken will introduce it - The Senatorial Truth in Footwear Act of 2009.

Minnesota Supreme Court...

Al Franken, comedian, political commentator, and Saturday Night Live alumnus, has come to the end of the intense battle over whether or not he won election to the U.S. Senate from his home state of Minnesota. The Minnesota Supreme Court declared Franken the winner of the race, after it was contested by incumbent Norm Coleman that the election wasn't conclusive. It isn't known if Coleman intends to appeal the decision to federal courts, which could tie up the seat in the Senate for longer, but Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty has declared that he will back the Minnesota Supreme Court's decision, whatever it is, and Coleman will need a lot more fast cash to appeal his loss to Al Franken further.

I'm not GOP....

Al Franken is simply a comedian though in a big way. He's going to socialize our medical field worse than it already is.

I'd prefer if they could get off the soap box for ONE minute and just listen to the people out here, hire a Doctor to actually take care of our healthcare crisis.... A PHD or a Medical Doctor instead of a shill.

not pleased

I'm not pleased. I'm amused.

He's a total party guy. He'll vote for every big gov program

they put up for a vote. Have you heard his critism of obama's policies or the bailouts? me neither.
