WASHINGTON (CNN) – Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is expected to announce Friday that she will not seek a second term, three sources tell CNN.
Palin has scheduled a 3 p.m. ET news conference at her home in Wasilla. The governor’s office offered no further details about the subject of the news conference, but the sources tell CNN that Palin will announce her decision to forgo another run.
"She thinks she has accomplished goals she has set forward," one of the sources, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said. "She sees what a positive influence she has had on people's lives from traveling the country in the last year."
As the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, Palin is considered one of the frontrunners for the GOP nomination in 2012. Her decision not to seek another term as governor is sure to stoke speculation that Palin is seriously eyeing a run for the White House

and I never did like Palin. She would have had my support in a second if she'd said, "You betcha my husband belongs to Alaska First. We think the best thing for Alaska & many other states would be so seceed from the union. Alaska is nothing like Alabama, the way Italy is nothing like Belgium. Why should we have all these states? We'd all be better off as individual states & be able to keep all that money we send to the District of Criminals for ourselves." But no, she joined lock-step with the neo-cons & marched with the RINOS right into the shithole they created. So long Sarah. Prediction - Palin to FNC
Immediately following roundtable commentary on Obama's acceptance speech in Denver Fox News cut to a remote Greta Van Sustern covering the McCain campaign. I recorded and revisited the broadcast once Palin was announced as McCain's running mate. It became immediately obvious Fox News was in on the information but held it at the behest of campaign officials. Formerly it was almost impossible to imagine a media organization withholding information from the public at the direction of operatives within political entities. Exceptions to the rule were rare, one that comes to mind is the Kennedy administration's plea to a the editor of a major newspaper asking him to hold reporting on the emerging Cuban missile crisis until the President's television address. The request was founded on reasons of dire national security and the editor very reluctantly complied.
Fast forward to 2008 and FNC's cosy relationship with RNC communications. As instances of news anchors parroting off internal party talking points almost verbatum began to surface along with the presence of Carl Rove on a nightly basis, it doesn't take a conspiracy theorist to conclude FNC chief Roger Ailes, a former political advisor to Nixon and Reagan, allowed the dividing lines between journalism and pubic relations to blur beyond recognition.
So here is a prediction; she will have her own show on Fox News. It has already been arrainged. It'll boost ratings and give her an idologically friendy platform to repair her image from. Oh, and lots of bucks for shopping sprees. Check that - a sponsor-provided revolving wardrobe.

I liked her before she was nominated by McCain,
but she was a different person during the general election. Trying to be something she wasn't. Don't get me wrong, she wasn't ready for prime time yet, but she has/had potential. I'm surprised she didn't resign sooner. I'm sorry, but the media was even close to being fair in their treatment of her. Hell, McCain's people weren't fair either. The dems in Alaska started several ethics inquiries and came up with nothing. Hopefully she will make some speeches, make millions of dollars and raise her family. Maybe 2016 would be a good year for her. I don't understand the hate on here for her. There are far worse Republicans then Palin.

Can you debate her speach? I don't think you can. Like some posters here, you are unable to "hear" what she is saying, and since you only look for crap, that's all you find.
I have more interest that crap when someone resigns, and it appears a few folks on this thread are also inclined to debate the speach.

Kristol apparently has POWER
POWER is something one respects, when one understands what POWER is and what POWER can do.
Now if Kristol has so much POWER, that he can take Palin and position her to beat Hilary in one election, then not only do I respect Kristol for his POWER, that of my understanding of it, but I respect him for showing everyone in the world, what games are being played when Hillary has to spend decades to do what Palin was able to do in one election.
