What's with the marijuana-legalization-fascists??

I was just on blog that I occasionally visit and I saw comment by someone from the MPP stating that marijuana should be "taxed" and "regulated".

So I went to their website and I see they even have a video entitled "Tax and Regulate Marijuana"!! See here. Who are these people!?

Decriminalize would be nice, and deserved.

We the people, have sustained the on going "war on drugs" which is a war on people. Taxes and deficit are false flags when you think of the 7th largest world economy is broke. How does that happen?
It happens when you let stupid gone wild.
The cannabis industry is huge and cannot be allowed to fail. But it doesn't need no bail out, it just needs to be left alone . . .
you know . . . like individual sovereignty.
Our economy needs the cottage industries that hemp provides and let the "free market" choose!
Vote with your fork! Small family farms are the only answer.

And never forget, “Humans, despite our artistic pretensions, our sophistication and many accomplishments, owe the fact of our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.”

Re-legalization would be much better.

I've been respectful of, and use often, the cannabis.

For at least 35 years, cannabis users have been marginalized and labled criminal.
This is war, and cannabis is one of our tools. Hands off you "denatured" Feds.
We have had a cannabis industry, a million/now billion dollar industry that has had a basic monopoly by insidious political mindset, that imprisons you for growing an industry, and creating a better world.

We must wean our selves away from the idea . . . that we give them money as a reward for oppression. Look at the history. They will not use the proceeds (taxes) except to aim a gun at you. The economics of bringing canabis into viabiltiy as far as regulations grow, should come at a pace demanded by a free market. Start from the seed, and let it grow. Don't smother it with fertilizer. You'll burn it.

Learn from the experience, cannabis is good for not only economic growth, but for philisophical growth as well.
Cannabis provides economic lessons that will help us grow other small business' into viability, a contrary direction and against corporate facism.

And never forget, “Humans, despite our artistic pretensions, our sophistication and many accomplishments, owe the fact of our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.”

Here is my order

Freedom > Regulation/Taxation on it > Prohibition

Given this, I generally do not criticize the "tax and regulate" people too hard because I think that set up would be materially better than what we have today.

Choose your battles and such...

I too think that it would be a little better

One could grow it in their garden and probably avoid the regulations and taxes. But, I guess my point is that the MPP are morons. They don't understand liberty. They seem to be arguing that marijuana should be legalized because it will "help out the economy" (which by that they mean more taxes for the State).

doorjam

Thinking this is a way to get a foot in the door. Baby steps. That group sticks to that angle to get those that will be swayed by that argument. Others approach it different but probably for the same reasons, to get another group to listen to that argument.

Once it's legalized, then maybe we can fight to repeal tobacco tax or mj tax etc...

Yes it's insane that a plant that grows Everywhere and has many benifits is illegal. Only thing I can think is "reefer madness" propaganda needs to be countered in the public eye.

I'd agree with you if it was easy to...

get taxes (and regulations) repealed. Unfortunately, historically that has proven to be quite difficult. As M. Friedman once said: "There's nothing as permanent as a temporary government program."

It will all fall down

There is a reason there is lots of stuff where man made nonsense falls apart in the Bible (i.e. Tower of Babel, the Walls of Jericho, etc.) Man made nonsense has had a decent run, but it is coming to a rapid end.

Be joyful at that!

Don't be so sure you

could grow it in your garden. I am sure they would have a special detail of officers that went a round looking for illegal gardens that have not been approved and regulated.

Prepare & Share the Message of Freedom through Positive-Peaceful-Activism.

Haha,

that is so true. Good point.

This is why marijuana "decriminalization" makes me nervous--what the hell do the politicians mean by the term? They've made the term so vacuous!

people willing to...

give away rights and Liberty for privledge and license.
