Article here about a city in California that wants to be the first to use a high definition camera flying above the city to monitor for crime.

it came out that the FBI can monitor conversations through a cell phone.
Also if You turn the cell phone off.
The only way they cannot listen in is to take out the battery.

I was talking to a Teamster Union Steward (was one myself) and he told me UPS drivers are monitored electronically every minute. UPS even knows when a driver has gone into the back of his vehicle, how long he has been out of his truck, and if driver took scanner out of holster. Drivers cannot take time to engage in small talk with customers without the company knowing they are taking too long. I believe he said they know where the drivers whereabouts are [GPS].
When I was an entrepreneur, and making money hand over fist I wouldn't stop for lunch. Has anyone seen a UPS driver parked under a shade tree other than maybe lunch ?
If that is the terms of their employment
that is fine with me.
It is a problem when you have no freedom to not be under surveillance at basically all times.
Only God has my permission to keep an eye on me at all times. The Govt can kiss my bum.

The article doesn't say if it can use radar to see thru objects. The fact that it's being used by the military and NASA makes it more suspect.

I see little difference between
the unmanned cameras and the helicopters that patrol the skies, in some cities, on a daily basis. Either way, they're watching. At least with the choppers you can see them coming, but the spotlights in your eyes during a quiet, beautiful night are a bit disconcerting . . .
Its already bad. There are cameras on nearly every corner, and they patrol the skies with choppers, the streets on bikes and in cars, and the canyons on mtn bikes. "They" are literally everywhere. . .

That sucks for you. It is not like that where I live. I think I would be figuratively rampaging local lawmaking bodies if that sort of nonsense was going on in my area.

I just moved, thank God . . . now i'm in upstate NY. I think Janet Napolitano used the state as the working model for what the US will become. In AZ there are checkpoints on all major highways, helicopters patrol regularly, cameras on every corner and they are adding even more, the state police just merged with homeland security, so a national police force patrols the interstates. Cops stop and question people as they go about their business on the street. They shoot first and ask questions later.
Its a very oppressive environment and I'm glad I was able to get out. I suspect I'll have fewer problems getting across the border into Canada when the SHTF . . . .

No helicopters, street cameras, bike cops, etc.
There is a minimal police presence where I live.
