World Currency
I may be off-base (I frequently am), but I think one currency might not be a bad idea.
I recently went to the Philippines, via Japan. I constantly had to change dollars to Pesos, or to Yen, to buy things. Whenever I changed money, I lost a little in the currency exchange.
I'll be there are more than 100 currencies in circulation today. The dollar is (for now) still surprisingly strong, but the Euro, Yen and British Pound, are in a little dance. Up a penny, down a penny. Currency trading is a hot topic, one that Peter Schiff like to talk about - dump the dollar and get into other currencies or Asian/European stocks/commodities.
Would a world currency give up monetary control to the international bankers? Of course. But they already control the money, so what's the difference? All I know is that it would make life a whole lot easier to be able to travel to Thailand, Australia, China, etc. and not have to try to figure out what all those funny coins and bills are.

One mechanic is not to be compared to world currency. That would never happen anyway, or one construction company, or one gas station, etc.
All I know is that when I travel, the currency conversion is just a pain in the neck.

And here is the irony. I would defend your freedom of religion as fervently as I oppose any of the scrap paper that is being passed in congress. Even though I AM in opposition concerning religion, you have the right to your beliefs. The "final authority" in this Republic gave that to you. Can you say you would do the same for my beliefs? Probably not. The word of god tells you to denounce heretics, or atheists, or whatever other group is not aligned with your beliefs correct? Your free as long as a god isn't telling you otherwise. Or a tyrant. World events are unfolding, and we can continue with our petty divisions and fall, or we can come together in unity of purpose and fight for freedom. I was going to ask you to explain to me the origin of this seemingly unprovoked outburst because I really don't get it---at least from the context of this particular post, but then I thought better of it (it really doesn't matter, and I'm probably just missing something).

Setting ambiguity aside, I wonder if you can consider just what you are saying. If it is true that all the real assets to liberty are scared off by the religious folks, if that's really the problem, then why don't you just go and create your own non-religious parallel movement. (Ron Paul is one of the religious ones after all; but, hey, I'm sure he'd let you use his name as well.) Just get your eleven friends together and take all the non-religious people from the Ron Paul movement, and then we can really do the job.
If, on the other hand, you're just using the religious people as an excuse to avoid recognizing the fact that you and your eleven friends are basically impotent without the help of the religious bunch which vastly outnumber you and have played a significant role in the Ron Paul freedom movement, then you need to get over it and look past their shortcomings---even as they recognize that they need the help of you and your eleven friends and should overlook your shortcomings, of which I'm sure there are more than a few.

I think you may be mistaking the MOST fundamental and vocal xtians as mainstream xtianity, which they are not. You DO have to give them credit for being fire-and-brimstone about some things like militantly and vocally calling for a return to the gold standard, or honesty out of their politicians. I WANT people like that fighting for a return to the gold standard...

The pastor of my church always tells us not to take his word for it, to go look it up for ourselves to make sure he is telling us the correct things. The problems we are seeing in the church stem from corruption and twisted words. Also, it stems from people blindly accepting everything that human authority says. God is the only infallible authority, and pastors, government, etc. can and do lead us onto incorrect paths.

we may have 5 or less years left. Revelations is dead on, many have sliced and diced revelations to make it fit, but to make it fit you should not have to slice and dice it. It should just fall into place. My pastor gave a twenty hour seminar on Revelations, and it was dead on, backed with historical data. It fit like a puzzle. I video taped it and hope to have it available soon. I just don't think people will throw away thirty bucks for some amateur DVD. It is a five disk series, and we are hoping to post it on my pastor's website to be able to make enough money to put on more Revelations seminars. The seminars cost about $10,000 with advertising and renting a hotel conference room for twenty nights. His website is www.pastorfritz.com, which should be under construction very soon. He is one of the greatest people I have ever met in my life, and has a doctorate degree. He is very thorough in his studies of The Bible, and he makes sense of it every week for me and the church. I hope to post his weekly sermon up every week, once the website is finished. His sermons are very interesting, and you actually go home knowing what the pastor just talked about. Every other church I have gone to in the past, I have gone home going, what was he talking about? Now I go home saying wow.
