Ayn Rand understood value of gold as money!

"Money by Ayn Rand [from Atlas Shrugged].

"Whenever destroyers appear among men, they start by destroying money, for money is men's protection and the base of a moral existence. Destroyers seize gold and leave its owners a counterfeit pile of paper... (Extract from Atlas Shrugged)."

In Atlas Shrugged, Ayn Rand's novel, first published in 1957 in the United States. one of the novel's heroes, Francisco d'Anconia talks about money (and gold).

Ron Paul recommended Atlas Shrugged in the bibliography of his best seller, The Revolution: A Manifesto

In Rand's Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal, Alan Greenspan wrote an article on the importance of gold as money.

How was Reardon repaid by the destroyer?

This fiction novel is so prophetic.

And the use of the railroad industrialists as its focal point makes one realize how history repeats itself.

Same place, same action, different time.

The destroyer that repaid Reardon a portion of the debt owed to him made it his role to kill a man that had been dead for centuries. Robin Hood.

We all have our roles.

I'm listening to the book on tape right now(45 cds!!!). I have to say that I dont care for her writing style or her philosophy, although her politics are pretty good.

Sure, they're living it. And sure their good friend wrote the book. But it's nice to believe she was talking about regular folks. Of course I'm joking, but you'll see. Everyone loves to think Atlas Shrugged is inspirational to all freedom loving people. It's funny.
