This would make it manditory
This would make it manditory for Obama to quit ,since he is commander in chief.. No cigs in the White house either.
yes ???
I was just telling the wife
... the 5 years I was in the Marines I never smoked. As a teenager before I tried it a couple times, but did not like it. Every time you ate "C" Rations in the field some cigarette company had a small pack in the box. I used to trade mine for whatever.
Once in Okinawa my Captain was having a nicotine fit and a Corporal offered him a Japanese cigarette. The Captain said he wouldn't smoke that [Japanese] shit. It wasn't a couple minutes later he did.
The smoking lamp is lit, smoke 'em if you got'em ! (USMC)
wtf?
what idiot proposed that? if i was there right now, i'd wanna start smoking immediately.
Before a military man was executed,
he was offered a cigarette in times gone by. Now he doesn't get one because it's hazardous to his health??
lol, cause smoking is more
lol, cause smoking is more hazardous to your health than war.

A ploy by the states?
when you buy tobacco on base, there is no state taxes.
Looks like they've decided not to go with the ban afterall.

Smoking
My high school english teacher ran out of smokes during a savage firefight during the Tet offensive, and when he stood up to yell out to a buddy nearby his position as to inquire wether he had any cigarettes, he got shot with a armour peircing round that removed 20 feet of his small intestines from his body. Smoking very bad during combat.
Not sure if that's a true
Not sure if that's a true story or not. Hard to believe, knowing what I know about smoking and adrenaline. Many, many years ago when I was much better looking and in better shape, me and about 5 buddies decided we were going to hike the Muir Trail from Bishop to Mammoth. Most of them quit smoking before hand. I was the idiot that didn't bother to try.
When you are hiking 12-15 hours per day with 40-60lbs on your back in altitudes that can reach 10,000 feet (we broke 10K 3 times), you have a near constant adrenaline rush the entire day. That adrenaline also stimulates certain endorphin hormones. These same endorphins are what gives you the actual high when you smoke.
Point is, the only time I even remotely desired to smoke, was at the end of the day when we were winding down at camp for the evening. The entire day(s) hiking constantly, under constant exercise .. no desire what so ever. The only time the desire to smoke hits is when the adrenaline fades. Have a real hard time imagining someone Jonesing for smokes during a firefight in 'Nam.
Smokes
Only relating what the man stated during a class. Can not imagine why he would lie. He also stated that he was realy quite drunk at the time on some beer brewed in Vietnam. And as he had the scars to prove it, I was taking him at his word. Also because of his losing so much of his gut, he was as skinny as a bean pole. If he turned sidways he would about disappear.
Oh great thousands of men and women with guns going cold
turkey ? I see bad things coming........

Email Scatter Bomb
The freedom movement cannot rely on the same ol same ol tactics that go nowhere when everything is rigged. It's time to distract, protest, expose and remove the enemies. Start sending emails to every small town paper and town council and local police your search engine can get it's hands on. Attach files with the evidence on killer flu vaccines, thermite in the dust, voter frauds, list of obama broken promises, covered up EPA studies, NLE09, UN troops in america, the fed dodging questions, planned martial law, missing birth certificate.....you name it. we can call it the email bomb. whatever state you are in just start searching for any local governments contact info and send, send ,send until you pass out. dig up dirt, spread it around, show no mercy.
I wonder if this will
I wonder if this will further dissuade enlistment.
The local governments are
The local governments are all so strapped for cash that my guess is that they want to stop all the military members from using the commissaries for purchasing cigarettes for themselves and their family members. Squeeze every last penny out of them that is possible.
Then there is the issue of the government truly "caring" about people. We'll send people to war to dodge bullets who cannot even legally drink a beer and now they won't be able to light up a cig?
...
I guess
that the cigs are cutting into the opium market.
I am not a big CT guy but ...
Who would have access to foreign bases to benefit from off the books profits if tobacco became a black market in the military?
WAHOR!!

Actually, yes, I do.
I was being delicate with Rhino. He's not big on CT's. ;)
Don't worry I am sure
they will hand them a bunch of pills of course someone is going to making a ton of money supplying them to the troops.
Prepare & Share the Message of Freedom through Positive-Peaceful-Activism.
Put Obama on
the front line without any cigs.

I guess retention is no longer a goal
Wow. I don't think this will play well among the enlisted.

Tobacco use "can cause serious health problems"
Like getting shot can't?
Good point.
Good point.

But when I was a kid,
my parents merely pointed out the dangers of things.
Like schools are to vaccines, military is to indoctrination. (getting them used to socialized medicine).
My parents did not threaten me with fines and jail time or confiscate my bicycle. It's just more of the war on drugs.
Hey Monsanto, why don't you try to eat it raw, uncooked, fresh locally grown organic foods.
No, you want me to eat Roundup and hormones, and call it a sandwich.
You can warn me about nothing, because everything you do is an insidious generational kill. I don't like you. Third generation sterility in most species. Your history is ugly.
Up with the small family farmer because they are the best. And they can grow better tobacco and cannabis.
No to Monsanto and end the fed enablers. (even those beyond the fed).

Gotta wonder what the "or else" would be for the soldiers.
The article doesn't mention what the penalty would be for smoking.
