Time to Bring Sarah Palin Into the Ron Paul Fold?

Sarah Palin was thrust into the Republican political machine last fall like a deer in the headlights. Less than 12 months later she has resigned from her post as governor of Alaska and has been thrown under the bus by the Republican Party establishment: http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/washingtondc/la-na-p...
I will be the first one to tell you that I had my doubts about her when McCain selected her as his running mate during the 2008 election. With that said, I think we as a fledgling-yet-still-growing political community might be well-served to at least consider and debate absorbing Sarah Palin into our cause. What are your thoughts?

Lots can happen between now and 2012. I think she's maleable to our cause. If not, oh well... we tried. But we shouldn't kill the idea before exploring futher and giving it a chance.

She represents about 20 per cent of the vote. I know it is a risk yet she can help solidify the RP movement if she shares most of the main viewpoints of the movement and would be able to 'spread the message' to those 20 per cent and even more momentum would be gained.

if she champions the constitution. She brings masses ripe for awakening with her. I think the media would have us believe she is clueless, but I don't think she is considered one of the 2012 frontrunners for no reason.

It is so obvious Palin is cut from a different thread. She didn't go to an Ivy League Law School, she has honor, she resigned as Governor and did the right thing. She has taken a publicity beating from the Wack Job Lefty Nuts and hasn't peeped a word except to Letterassman to defend her daughter.
She is one of us, she isn't rich, her husband hasn't benefitted from any political decisions she made. I believe she is one of the most honest poopaticians we have had in a long, long time. She got her political expereince from the ground up. Has not made a life out of holding one office like many other poopaticians have. I would love to see her get involved with Campaign for Liberty. She does need some education, that's for sure.

is being posited? The DP is not the head of the Liberty movement, neither is anyone of its members or visitors. To me this is a totally condescending question. When did WE decide who could defend Liberty, or support tyranny? If by her words and actions she supports Liberty and the constitution against those who would throw it aside, then by definition she is protecting our, and her, rights. Palin's participation is not defined by us, but by her. It is her perogative to join, or stay aside. We cannot make that decision. We are not the gatekeepers to some club, we are only participants by our own will and through our free choice to volunteer. I have to say that I believe the thought pattern of this post is "high minded", blind and misguided. Too many times it has been posted on this site that "by their fruits will they be known" - why don't we follow that advice in this instance instead of asuming like assinine ignoramuses that we hold the keys over who can and who cannot defend Liberty. Palin will make her choices, but we must move forward in defense of Liberty. If she chooses to catch up and defend our freedom, then she's in, by her choice, not anothers. We cannot climb the high horse and pre-emptively choose yea or nay before the flower on the tree has bloomed.

Asking a question (as the author of this post did) is a healthy contribution to this debate. I'm not so quick to presume that the author is asking the question as some pious judge or as a representative of some gatekeeper. "Bring into the fold" is merely a figure of speech that I took more as "should we reach out to?".
The author doesn't seem to me to be advocating that we decide anything. Just do we want to explore the idea, recruit, or even pursue a very visible and influential individual ...who by the way seems to be ripe for encouragement and grooming by this movement.
Of course the DP is not the head of the Liberty movement, but rather a forum where these questions should be debated. I think the author's simple question is useful and very welcome, and that it is not pretentious. So relax my friend... there may be more common ground here than at first blush.

You have NO idea what my agenda is.
I knew that was coming to me. Not that anyone will believe me (nor do I care), but I've been fan of the DP Since fall of '07. My original username was "sportsman4RP" but quit chiming in because for some reason the site would never keep my password, and so I gave up trying to deal with the tech difficulties ...and have just read along all of these past 20 months. I contributed several hundred dollars to the historic money bombs (and hit the refresh button to whatch the figures climb over $5.2M on 11/5, and then over $6M in Dec. '08), have converted friends and family members away from their neoconservatism, and have the bumber stickers, slim jims, the t-shirts, buttons, meet-up group evidence needed to back me up on this. If the site keeps my password this time, my interest will be more active and you'll hear me on a full range of topics that I've wanted to chirp in on, but haven't due to getting tired tech issues.
Knowing that I'll be charged over and over again w/ being a new member (when in fact I've been here way longer than most) is a bit nauseating, but whatever. I understand the perception. And blakmira, if you really knew me and my intentions you'd be at ease. Maybe I should reference the history of my involvement on C4L profile when I have more time.

I don't believe there is one TRUE supporter of Ron Paul who would support SP. So, all you true believers out there, have a good look at those who praise her.
Who's praising her now?
The fact that the GOP is trying to distance her self makes me, an ardent supporter of liberty, begin to like her more ...and to explore if she has more in common with us than with the party that she accepted the VP candidacy from. She is not McCain, she is her own person. Don't you think that she might be even more enlightened now, than when campaign imploded?
I don't know where my own research on her will lead, but I hope people keep an open mind about someone who seems to be like-minded with the liberty movement, AND with a huge following.
Lack of credibility
I would say no because of her lack of credentials. The media has her labeled as not the brightest bulb in the pack so I would avoid her completely.
