Please help. The one question test. I'm stumped.

I was given this test many years ago and failed. I still don't have an answer. Perhaps one of our brilliant DP members can help me out.
The Test.
1. Name one "meaningful thing" that one can do in the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness that is not taxed, licensed or regulated in some direct or indirect way.
Note: Burping and breaking wind does not count. :-)
In all honesty, I couldn't think of a thing.
This test should be given to everyone who actually believes the U.S.A. is still the land of the free.

Quite a few. They are small but satisfying
1. Go for a walk.
2. Smile.
3. Meditate.
4. Hang out with friends and talk about baseball.
5. Ride a Horse.
6. Go to a yard sale, or flea market.
7. Ride your bike.
8. Play with your dog or cat.
9. Go to the neighbor's house and ask for a cup of coffee.
I leave #10 to your wiley imagination.
Act free
The only thing I have any control over is my perspective. It doesn't matter which country or under which laws.
"Meaningful" is subjective. One mans trash, etc.. "Indirect" makes this exercise a little beyond vague. Government intrusions into varied aspects of our life are grotesque, and I have yet to see a count of laws that apply to the average US citizen, but I expect it would be many hundreds.
I'll play.
My lifelong quest to gain knowledge and understanding typically begins with journals and books - reading them, not even owning them. Ah, but the bound print is licensed, regulated and taxed.
Typing my thoughts on this post are covered by a myriad of indirect and direct forms of license, regulations and taxes, most I do not adhere to or pay a cent, but they exist none the less.
Sharing my thoughts verbally. Maybe the trick is to act free.
The music I compose is performed on an instrument that was purchased, and the sound reverberates over my taxed and regulated home.
One can extrapolate that the food I eat and the water I drink is taxed before being converted into the energy that forms the patterns of thought - therefore I, (human meatbag), fail the test.
The "indirect" nature of the question makes this as worthwhile as asking an atheist to prove there is no God.
Just my perspective.
When I Sleep?
No I had to pay a tax when I bought my bed. if I wake up to pee I am really fucd. My toilet had to meet code before I put it in and the water to flush is taxed and Obama forbid I turn on a light or use toilet paper, which seems to be a deadly sin these days.
Spreading the message of freedom is meaningful but you can not do it with out being regulated or taxed. We are all paying a tax to use the internet right now and the amount of regulation of internet speech is about to explode. Take it off the internet and you are under time, place, manner restrictions. Print something to hand out and ever step of the process is taxed.
You can search for God but as long as you walk on non government roads and hope he sits down to talk to you directly. Walk into a church and its one of the most regulated buildings in this country. Their tax exempt status is based on what the government allows them to say.
As for camping, well unless you walked to a privately owned land that the owner let you stay on for free and you only ate cold food you might have a free time, but if it was public land just your dog pooping in the woods and you not picking it up broke some law.
You can be a stay at home mom or dad but the home is taxed and regulated the working parent is taxed and regulated and the children are owned by the state.
You may thing you are free but truth is nothing you can do in your life is not taxed, licensed or regulated in some direct or indirect way.

I am an Objectivist. To my knowledge, I was not taxed, licensed, regulated, in any way on my journey to find God, or not. It was very meaningful to me to have this FREEDOM to explor religion and spirituality to find what works for me.

You can believe...
in Liberty. Your thoughts and individual faith are the cornerstone of Liberty and self regulation. Why do you think the military is trying to win "hearts and minds". It's right in our faces all the time. Look between your ears and your shoulders, there you find freedom, there you make Liberty.

Last week I went camping
by a beautiful river, took my dog, splashed in the water, had complete darkness and silence at night..saw a deer up really close, saw real blue sky.
Yes the old truck is licenced but I owe nothing on it. And yes it took gas to get there but once I move up there we can walk to the river.....
Also there is no tax on thinking and talking, yet. Stories come from our imagination... Verbal legends are free...
and then there is rainwater too.

I can think of a few things...
1. write in a journal or diary
2. make a photo album to share with loved ones
3. paint, sculpt, knit or embroider, make jewelry, etc. for gift giving or personal collection
4. meditate/pray in the privacy of your home

Ok
But if the journal was a gift (along with the pen/pencil), I could write in it freely - the tax would not affect me personally that way!
