CENSUS 2010 Civil Disobedience
Submitted by on2.victory on Tue, 07/14/2009 - 18:47Many think that by not participating in the 2010 census, they are participating in some form of civil disobedience. They may be well intentioned, but I see no positive outcome.
When you fill out your census form, declare your race as NATIVE AMERICAN!!!
Not only does this echo the original Boston Tea Party, it affirms your status as an American by birth. You are an AMERICAN, with UNALIENABLE rights. The Constitution declares that a census shall be held every 10 years and I will abide by the letter of the law inscribed on the Constitution.
I won't be lying since I am 1/32 Seminole. How can ACORN prove that you don't have Indian blood running through your veins?
If we can get 10 to 20 percent of the population to declare that they are Native American, it will send a much clearer message to Washington that we are FED up with their criminal behavior than if we choose not to participate.
When you get your census form, check Native American as your race. As an added benefit, the tribes might get more recognition from our government.
Please spread this word and encourage others to dress up as Mohawks and dump some tea in the socialist harbor!

Dang.
Why didn't I think of that. I am native american. I wonder if they owe me back taxes, after all the constitution plainly states native americans are not to be taxed. ( I think they planned on exterminating all of them ) ??

The R3volution requires action, not observation!!!!
American Indian or Alaska Native
I was excited for this idea but unfortunately looking at the actual terminology of the census, Native American isn't an option. It's American Indian or Alaska Native. Alaskans can still pull it off, but its a bit of a stretch to honestly say you're an American Indian (For actual Native Americans as well. I doubt many are from India ) This might not make a difference for some people though. I still like the idea
Last time I put myself down as...
European American, as my heritage is German. I'll think about Native American this time.
That's all I intend to answer.
The number of people in our home (not by gender) and that we're Native American. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less. That's all I'm required by the United States Constitution to answer.
Great
And I dont have to lie....gets out the war drums and wonders whos passing the peace pipe

I wont have to lie either!
I was born here:
In any similar situation, I check the box that I am a native. Been doing it for years and years.
I have had occasion to answer verbally that I am an Appalachian American. I was born there, love it there, and will die there.
Sometimes it gets a small laugh or chuckle. Sometimes it gets some snotty replies. Just the same, I yam what I yam.
I am not a fan of the census and only let them know the number of Native Americans that are in my home. I have also escorted them from my property at the business end of my home defense.
I am a big fan of civil disobedience.

Great idea
I'm a wee bit MicMac, but more importantly I am a native of US. I'll be checking off that box for the whole family.

Literally, "native" means
Literally, "native" means by birth. It comes from the same root as "nativity," "pre-natal," etc.. So if you were born in America, you are a native American. Not sure the PTB would agree though.
I don't care who agrees
I am very serious about this.
I do not for a second believe that "we the people" can stop the power of the political machine that is working tirelessly to grind us down, but we can throw a few things into the gears to slow it down.
A 15% Native American population would definitely cause some explanation or denial. No one is breaking a law, they are simply fibbing. The government "fibs" to us on a daily basis, so we are merely following their example.
Don't forget, "Households that still do not respond will be called or visited by a Census worker. (Census workers can be identified by a census badge and bag.)" [I'm guessing ACORN...]

It's a lot easier to just check "Native American", and you will be doing a valuable service to our Nation.
very interesting idea.
why not?
the only important part is the # of people.
the only important part is the # of people?
The important part IS the people!
Spread the word, and if America still exists in any recognizable form, we might have some impact.
