FIREMISSION: Daily HR 1207 phone/email/fax bomb!!! 7/17/09

0 votes

While Liberty_Mike is away from the front for five days enjoying some well deserved R & R, I'll be coordinating the DP FIREMISSIONS.

Since we have the offensive momentum, we'll be increasing the number of targets. Of today's five Representatives four are from Indiana and one is from Texas.

Two of them are on the Financial Services Committee and three are Blue Dogs so this is a strategic strike right into the heart of their defense.

I saw a special request from a Texas DPer who had the opportunity to ask Rep. Charles Gonzalez about HR 1207 on a local radio show and he stated he didn't support it but his father would have!

We'll be giving Rep. Gonzalez some extra attention today by putting him at the top of the target board while it's still fresh on his mind!

Target priority:
Rep. Charles Gonzalez [D TX-20]
BD FC* Rep. Joe Donnelly [D IN-2]
FC* Rep. André Carson [D IN-7]
BD** Rep.Baron Hill [D IN-9]
BD** Rep. Brad Ellsworth [D IN-8]

*FC-Financial Services Committee
**BD-Blue Dog Caucus

Lock and load DP. You are "WEAPONS FREE" and cleared "HOT"!

What's a firemission?

I must have missed something seeing as I haven't been keeping up on Tom Clancy's books and video games.

Defend Liberty!

Some old lingo from my Army days

I was in the Infantry. Left the Army in 2000. When you request artillery on an enemy target, you call for a FIREMISSION.

And on http://www.AR15.com whenever someone posts a poll they want action on, they start the post with FIREMISSION. It's also used when a poster wants the ARFCOM membership to communicate with a media outlet or a politician on a particular subject, much like we do here on DP.

I thought it an appropriate term so I shamelessly borrowed it for use here on DP!

Lot's of Ron Paul supporters over there, but some neo-cons as well. makes for INTERESTING discussions.

ARFCOM is the largest gun forum on the web and I post there frequently but it's not a site to visit if one is offended by bad language .

To let Dr. Paul know how important HR 1207

lets do a thank you "firemission" to Ron Paul

If they are on the Financial Services Committee..

Then you tell them that based on their participation on that committee, they are influencing policy that will affect not only their constituents but citizens in ALL 50 States! You tell them that you are communicating your concerns to the Representative not in his capacity as a Congressman from whatever state they're from but in his capacity as a member of the Financial Services Committee.

That's why I've specifically tried to target FSC members. If you talk to a Rep not on the committee then try a variation of this tactic if you can.

Or just send a fax to their district offices. That's what I do. The fax volume is probably less at the local offices but someone still has to sort them when they come in. Staffers do not sit there and read every fax in detail and that's the advantage of our simple fliers. When it comes in, a staffer will glance over it and catch the "Cosponsor HR 1207" before it gets canned. The faxes are one of the most effective tools we have.

Good point. But every

Good point. But every action or inaction by any member of Congress affects the entire country. Even the pork they carve out for their own state/district is paid by all Americans.

Good comment, cactus!

I've added "All states are affected by inaction!" to the bottom of my fax.

I just called all of the

I just called all of the offices. Almost every office wanted an address. One allowed just a zip code. I was able to weasel out of one by giving my email only. What are you guys doing about the address question? I try to say I don't want a response but they still hammer me for the address.

You Judge A Tree By It's Fruit, NOT its Flower

They want to know if you are one of their constituents.

I fax all the time, and we've put our address label at the bottom of the page.
Just letting them know that folks in all states have an interest in this topic is helpful, imo. We're watching them all. In Liberty.

Yea Palosie's office did the

Yea Palosie's office did the same to me. I thought she is head of the house .So I guess that would make me a constituent of her's.
yes ???

Some have even told me that

Some have even told me that they only pass along the messages from those in their district. This is why I try to avoid giving an address. I was thinking of faxing so I did not have to post an address. I used to tell them I was from another state until I started getting the brush off whenever I did.

You Judge A Tree By It's Fruit, NOT its Flower

I'd tell them that even if I

I'd tell them that even if I am from another state and can't vote for the Rep.. I can still work to support his or her opponent for his or her seat come election time.

And if they do not give my message to the rep that's exactly what I will do.

I'd also tell them that there are people from all over the country who are keeping track of who is and who isn't co sponsoring this bill.

These morons are living in the dark ages. This is the age of the Internet. A person no longer needs to live in their state in order to make a difference in getting out information on any rep who is not representing the best interests of We the People.

Good idea, Ira.

I guess they'll see the phone number from where the call originated, however. I'll keep on informing them, though. We know we're educating everyone, one by one!

Sent flyer to all 12 faxes

Next!

I'm curious

The other day a fine post was made with a chart that showed us by district, who had signed on, and who did not. It was obvious some states, such and North Dakota, not one signed on, and CA, less than 50%.. so why wouldn't these become our targets? Are we pulling names out of a hat, or drawing straws? When does CA get bombed?

Its beginning to appear to me, I live in a "Ron Paul hands off", area. I'd gotten my sister to start a Meetup in NV, where the campaign paid a great amount of attention, though thay had a Meetup that the campaign favored with signs and coins, etc. But my area, this area, "The Emerald Triangle", not one republican Ron Paul member was contacted, supported or helped for being a delegate.. Those of us who are not Republicans felt really really bad for our Republican patriots, who were treated the same way RP was treated on MSM.

And the other question I have is about Ron Paul's healthcare HR 2426 (?). Ron Paul has mentioned this a few times, and I'm being bombarbded with emails about Single Payer healthcare from the left. Why, when the left is up in arms about healthcare, we do NOTHING to educate and promote DOCTOR Ron Paul's healthcare? I'm not getting it.

Finally, THANK YOU for stepping up (wouldn't it be rich to get the 290 when Liberty_Mike is on R&R? ;))

WE ARE GOING TO WIN!

I'll explain my priorities for today

In the main HR 1207 cosponsor update thread a DPer from TX actually talked to Rep. Gonzalez on the radio and he was rebuffed so that's why I put him on the top of the list.

I increased the number of targets from two to five because only Democrats are left to cosponsor which makes the task more challenging.

Finally I chose Indiana Reps who were on the Financial Services Committee and/or were Blue Dogs, the so-called "conservative" Democrats. Indiana is in the heartland and IMHO a bellwether state in terms of national opinion.

Reps from the same state get together on a regular basis to discuss legislation and if three of them are targeted it makes it more likely that HR 1207 will come up in their conversations the next time their state delegation meets.

Next week I have the final three Reps from Wisconsin and a couple of others in mind. And on Tuesday...well you'll just have to wait for that. I can't reveal ALL my secrets!

Great

Makes lots of sense!!!

Target Indiana and Illisnois big time

Thanks for all you've done. LexingtonGreen
