Ron Paul's supporters have asked me to make a "correction". I replayed the tape and what he actually said versus what many (including myself) perceived he said is different. Here is an excerpt from their letter:
If he truly stands by his original post - that it wasn't about Paul but about the field being too large, let him submit a new petition asking everyone in this most recent poll who is getting 1% or less to not be allowed in.
In short, the so called 3rd tier candidates have had their chance to make an impression and if they cannot poll beyond 1 or 2 percentage points of support, they are simply getting in the way of the real debate of how to move our party and our country forward.
I spoke to a woman who denied they want Paul out of the debates. I reminded her that the MIGOP blog entry by Saul called for it, and it was not Saul, the private citizen, but Saul the state party chairman calling for it.
She said she would forward my comment.
I also called my county GOP office, and they denied knowledge.
He posts around 8am daily.
Wednesday he called for Paul's ejection from the debates.
Thursday he said he was getting positive response.
Today, nothing about it.
Lets make sure he and the Michigan GOP realize we won't go away without a response, and that if anyone doesn't belong in the debates, it is those who aren't for the republic, nor for anything remotely republican.
I wonder if their fax machine is out of paper (since the other means of contact seem to be disconnected).
From http://blog.lewrockwell.com/ that is also following the mysterious telecom problems in Michigan:
Thanks to Allan Juranek, who recommends this archived link for sending email to the Michigan GOP. You can also email Saul's right-hand man (Saul himself being out of town) at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The archived link (which isn't active in this copy but is at the original site) is merely a different cache so should be disabled (the submit will go to an page unavailable message) like my google cache link.
(Contact Links revised II Below) He called to bar Ron Paul from the debates. They never call to bar big-spenders, abortion holocaust supporters, guestapo-your-papers-please republicans, but want to bar the only honest, uncorrupt politician in Congress. Anuzis should resign. Or be thrown out. I will actively do everything I can to stop anyone from contributing to ANY republican campaign except Ron Paul's until this idiot is ejected from the party, and you should do so too. (I was neutral on the GOP before this, but if they tolerate him, I can no longer tolerate them).
There were two moments in the debate, and both belonged to Ron Paul.
The first was Rudy's grandstanding. No solution, no information, just some "we're right no matter what" stuff ignoring reality. That has been commented on and will act like a trebuchet to bring Ron Paul into view.
Let them laugh, when you hear the whole exchange, you know who knows foreign policy and who is utterly clueless.
With Ron Paul in St. Paul, and his moniker of Dr. No, I think this is another good twist. Hopefully to the knife in the side of pork.
I found out the convention will be in St. Paul MN next year.
I'm not interested in his canonization, but in his nomination.
Yet I think it makes for a good slogan or bumper-sticker.
Ron Paul in Saint Paul!
I'm watching MSNBC this morning, and of the 2nd tier candidates the only one being regularly mentioned is Ron Paul. The Polls on the internet, the principled positions, etc.
In the debate itself, he wasn't polished, but that was better. He was spontaneous and made sense. Unlike a doll that regurgitates a talking point when you pull a string (and puppets have strings).
I think he accomplished what he needed to at this point.
They haven't said so specifically, but I saw a note (without any link) on the antiwar.com blog, so I searched and this article comes up. Only three candidates meet the criteria, but are they going to make exceptions?
It looks like they just want a beauty contest. If anyone knows the best contact for Fox News and/or the SC party to stop this outrage, please post a comment. For now we might contact Fox News and the SC Republican party.
Dobbs even advertised the upcoming interview on his show. The time is from Ron Paul's site, but I would tune in earlier just in case.
The campaign announced it was delayed from today (4/9) for a week, so I've just edited it.
