public and private sector job graph

http://www.businessinsider.com/the-chart-public-sector-vs-pr...

Why has private sector jobs gone up and public sector jobs gone down the last few years? I have a couple ideas of contributing factors, but I don't have any numbers.

-ity, as God to Religion?

I came here to talk politics, not religion. For that I visit dailysaul.com. But some people seem to want to flood this forum with discussions on religion, God, faith, sects, cults, theocracy, transubstantiation, etc.

This thread is intended to be a distraction for all those people. They are dumb people who don't read words, only headlines. They will not know that we are mocking them - not their religion or beliefs, but the fact that they have some deep-seated need to post on and discuss religion. All the time.

Planned Parenthood advocates post-birth abortion

...in instances where an abortion has failed to terminate the pregnancy and the child is born alive.

Read more and watch the video at the link here: www.wnd.com/2013/03/planned-parenthood-lobbies-for-post-birt...

My question: At what point does a child gain rights that others should not infringe upon?

Any DP Gardening Gurus Willing to Sell Some Seeds?

I know there are some amazing gardening and sustainability minds on the DP and I was looking at buying some seeds for my first garden in my new home and thought, why not get great seeds from great people on the DP?

If anyone has a variety pack for sale for 1/10th of an acre, I would be willing to pay good money to support our own people. Or even if someone has a great tomato or pepper, etc. seed, let us know.

Thanks!

BTC?

I am a little confused as to the transaction fee concept of this currency.

At the coinad site, it asks if you want to delay transaction to reduce fees. The payout for visiting that site is less than the transaction fee.

If I were to 'cashout' & receive btc payout every hour to the same address, how will that affect my transaction fees when I purchase those llama socks from the BTC ebay counterpart?

Is the transaction fee contingent upon how many transactions went to the same address?

Government Monopoly on money

I was kind of mulling around the idea of gold and silver as money..
I work at a local news station and thought it would make an interesting story to do something about.. there's a rising popularity in purchasing gold and silver but what can you do with it.. maybe show the reporter at the grocery store trying to pay for groceries with it..

anyway to talk about how it's actually illegal and the why??

How do you teach a positive, happy person about Liberty issues?

The last 4 days I wasn't exposed to much news or any politics, coming back is always kind of a shock. Without too many details:
If someone is "nice, honest and positive", but almost totally clueless about the media being propaganda and the Gov growing so much, do you consider that teaching them might make them miserable?

(exaggerated example)

What Do People On DP Think of the Monsanto Protection Act That The Senate Passed?

Just curious, There was an article on the "dreaded" AJ page about how the senate passed an act that basically gives Monsanto the power to not only NOT be contested by US courts, but also gives them power over the government as a whole. I guess this makes them above the law.(no big surprise because someone here on DP says that the government owns 51% of Monsanto anyway so there really isn't any law to abide by to begin with I assume) Anyhow, I am just curious how DP'ers feel about this. Any comments?

Questions about bitcoins. Thanks for taking the time to answer.

I'm a little late when it comes to Bitcoins but how does the community feel? What are the recommendations from notable Austrian Economists – is there a general consensus among them? Is using and investing in bitcoin safer than other fiat currencies like the dollar, yet still inferior to a commodity backed currency? Would it be possible to tie ones actual gold/silver supply to their supply of bit coins so that that their bitcoins not only increase in purchasing power but remain more stable (kind of like a bitcoin 2.0 if you back it with gold or silver).

Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL) response to my email about drones.

A few weeks ago after Sen. Rand Paul gave his filibuster speech I wrote to my Senator's. Bill Nelson and Marco Rubio. I have just now finally received a "response" from him and/or his staff. I was actually surprised he mentioned privacy in the email but still, I am curious about a few things about it though.

The last time I wrote him another DP member from another state received basically a copy/pasted response completely identical to the one that my senator did.

Had anyone else emailed their senator's and asked them about drones?

Obama Executive Orders

I have recently come across some information showing that Obama has only signed 147 executive orders. In the past there have been many posts, here and elsewhere, meme's, videos, etc.. about the over 900 executive orders that Obama signed.

What happened? Where did 900 come from?

How Come Nobody Thinks The Stuff I Post Matters?

I keep posting threads here that I think are important yet they seem to just hit bottom like a rock. I am not wanting kudos, or recognition or any acceptance whatsoever. I just want to get info out that I think is important to the liberty movement. Somehow though, nobody even bothers to read or watch the stuff I post for the most part. Am I out of touch with what matters or is it the way I present it? I have the same problem trying to talk to people about what is going on out there. They don't want to hear it.

Why Is Rand Getting The Treatment He's Getting?

Just based on some informal observations, I feel like the media is generally treating Rand "well." Well as in, described in a positive light. Far more positive than his father.

But I also feel like the media is being very careful with Rand as well. They're trying to stay on top of his policies, hoping, it seems, to get him to say something that they can pin him hard with.

They haven't been quick to make ballsy predictions...He hasn't been placed on the cover of any magazines with captions like "The Republican Savior." (Another reason Rand's timing was delicious)
