Police unions fight to keep military gear for police force

Police associations are beginning a major lobbying push to protect their access to the military equipment that was used against demonstrators in Ferguson, Mo.

Law enforcement groups argue a Pentagon program that provides surplus military gear helps protect the public, and they are gearing up for a fight with lawmakers and the Obama administration over whether it should be continued.

Does the House of Representatives really represent? You decide!

How many people really know how many people one Representative represents? It can vary from State to State, but the average is 700,000+ people.

Do you know when they fixed the amount to 435? Some people debate 1911 or 1929.

Either way, is this really a representative Republic?

I break it all down here:

Back to School: It's the Students' Turn! (To See Their Bill of Rights Violated)

It's long been true that teachers had to watch what they say in the classroom,(for example, a history teacher mentioning the benefits true Christianity brought, or a science teacher mentioning the evidence of intelligent design).... while the students had more liberty. Now the students are feeling the jackboot of statism on their backs as well. John Whitehead, of the Rutherford Institute and author of A Government of Wolves lists several ways the student is being treated more like a dissident from a police state, and less like a free citizen.

Henry Kissinger on the Assembly of a New World Order

Apparently opportunity is ripe:
From WSJ:

Libya is in civil war, fundamentalist armies are building a self-declared caliphate across Syria and Iraq and Afghanistan's young democracy is on the verge of paralysis. To these troubles are added a resurgence of tensions with Russia and a relationship with China divided between pledges of cooperation and public recrimination. The concept of order that has underpinned the modern era is in crisis.

Auto Industry Juicing Sales With Subprime Auto Loans

Remember the loose lending standards that led up to the collapse of the housing market in 2008? After the crash, pundits cast blame on the bankers, politicians, and the Federal Reserve. The lending environment leading up to the housing collapse was downright insane. The powers that be had created an environment where the only requirements to obtain a mortgage was a pulse and a willingness to go into mountains of debt.

After the house of cards came crashing down, all parties agreed that we should never allow that to happen again.
