EPJ: Why Glenn Beck Should Shut Down His Television Show
Submitted by Neotheone on Sun, 03/03/2013 - 11:41by Robert Wenzel | Economic Policy Journal | March 3, 2013
Jack Hunter recently appeared with Glenn Beck on a Beck television set, as part of a panel discussion (see the clip below). For the audiences viewing pleasure in the background of the set (see the 3:50 mark) was a huge, softly lit poster of the monster Abraham Lincoln (paging Thomas DiLorenzo)
That was far from the only low spot. Beck has been pretending of late that he is either A. a libertarian or B. trying to understand libertarianism. The show started with a discussion about the legalization of street drugs. Beck's addition to the discussion can only be described as a train wreck.

How Does the Obama Administration Stack Up to Machiavelli's Prince?
Submitted by aalcorn on Sat, 03/02/2013 - 13:40...A virtuous ruler, must not live up to his professions of virtue, lest he be destroyed amongst the evil that surrounds him?
Okay…Well that is understandable considering the source, Niccolò Machiavelli. Here in “The Prince” is seemingly the foundational stone of the axiom upon which Machiavelli derives that the ends, do in fact justify the means. If you were a Ruler. We associate this amoral perspective of political theory as synonymous with that of Machiavelli himself.
And since this is such an easy task… And while I’m at it… Let’s compare this to our very own Prince Obama, eh?...
Every Sheriff in Florida Pledges to Protect Second Amendment Rights
Submitted by Veritas Aequitas on Sat, 03/02/2013 - 12:00On Sunday, Feb. 17, Watch Dog Wire reported that they received an email from Constitutional Sheriffs stating that all 67 sheriffs in the counties of Florida have signed a pledge declaring that they not only support the Second Amendment, but that they will protect the right of the people to keep and bear arms. 67, that’s every single county in the state.
Florida has become the first state to receive 100% support from every sheriff, which makes a huge statement opposing tyrannical acts against the United States Constitution. A statement that many other states are most likely soon to follow.

He was on good ground with "Surfed." But when he went to register the trademark, he found someone had beaten him to Jesus.

Defending Gun Rights With Civil Disobedience
Submitted by darrenlobo on Sat, 03/02/2013 - 00:20The gun owners of New Jersey have had enough! They’ve tried asking for their rights, they’ve tried protesting in the streets. It’s not working. The tyrants in Trenton are going to take their gun rights away regardless. Seeing that “There *IS* no redress of our LEGITIMATE grievances within the three branches of NJ government.” The New Jersey Second Amendment Society has announced the start of a campaign of civil disobedience.

Did the Mainstream Media Fail Bradley Manning?
Submitted by legalizeliberty on Fri, 03/01/2013 - 20:38Alleged Wikileaks whistleblower says he tried contacting major newspapers before going public
By Janet Reitman | Rolling Stone | March 1, 2013
For over a year, the story of Bradley Manning has been covered by a handful of journalists, many of them young, independent bloggers or reporters who have tirelessly shown up at hearing after hearing while more mainstream press has largely stayed home. The clearest example of this came during the hearings on Manning's pretrial punishment, which I write about in the new issue of Rolling Stone, when – after a series of scathing tweets from some of the aforementioned independent reporters – The New York Times' public editor called her own newspaper on its negligence. The Times then began sending a reporter to the proceedings. Now, thanks to Manning's stunning testimony in court yesterday, we learn that both The Washington Post and The New York Times – the papers that broke Watergate and published the Pentagon Papers, respectively – were offered the entire trove of Iraq and Afghanistan War Logs long before Manning turned to Wikileaks as a last resort. According to Manning's statement, they failed to respond.
