The USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times Poll released Sunday night showed the former Massachusetts governor and current Texas governor each with 22 percent support in the battle for the GOP presidential nomination, followed by Rep. Ron Paul of Texas with 11 percent, Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota with ten percent and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich with six percent.
I am a Californian Ron Paul supporter who lives in the San Francisco North Bay. I was thinking about attending the California Straw Poll in September, and wanted to know if there were any other RP Supporter in my neighborhood who were planning on driving down to LA to attend and vote.
I've got a big family and one car (which I will have to leave for the wife and kids), so I can't drive down. I'm thinking about flying, but just wanted to see if anyone out there was already planning on driving. I'd love to carpool, and split costs.
Thanks, Ron Paul 2012,
Brad the Dad
SFGate: He'll get attention in CA: Ron Paul to join Michele Bachman at GOP state convention in SeptemberSubmitted by complexphenom on Thu, 08/18/2011 - 16:50
As we reported this week, more GOP candidates might be showing up to the blue state convention now that Bachmann is the Friday keynote speaker -- and the party has decided to hold a straw poll that could juice up interest and passions among grassroots activists and the media in the nation's most populous state.
But John Dennis, who chairs the California Republican Liberty Caucus and is a Paul supporter, said his candidate has had somewhat of a rough time getting a foot in the door of the convention.
