The fear of the unknown drives many to seek safety and security in the status quo. That we have the status quo, have had for many years, and that many are unemployed, lost a great deal of their wealth, and fear collapse of the world economic system seems to escape many. That many of the GOP candidates are proposing new versions of the status quo with a little tweak here and there, a new constitutional amendment to ban something or other, a new “contract with America” cause the last one fixed nothing, or a new tax scheme that will not pass the Congress, also seems to appeal to some.

“He has sort of lost the sense of power and mystique of the presidency,” says longtime Obama ally Andy Stern, former president of the powerful Service Employees International Union. “There’s also a sense that people aren’t scared of him. That’s very dangerous.”
Why would anybody think that not fearing the president is "Very Dangerous".
I want a president who has the respect of the people. Why would I want someone I am scared of to be my leader... FAIL!
Hi friends in liberty,
I wonder if any of you have heard this fear of Ron Paul's 2012 victory:
The fear that Ron Paul's presidential victory would be a way for the powers that be to completely collapse the system and then more easily be able to scapegoat Ron Paul's ideas and the free markets in general.
Has anyone heard this fear expressed in the movement?
I believe Tom Woods said something moronic to this effect, and I personally just heard a few big name backers privately express this same fear to me.
