Pretty nice article from someone who doesn't seem to be a part of the Ron Paul Revolution.
The tv news reports said it twice yesterday: Ron Paul, the Live and Let Live Libertarian... I couldn't have come up with a more descriptive, all American, truthful tag-line.
Live and let live. Simple. Non-threatening. Lots of implied content that is understood immediately by most people, unlike "Hope" or even 'revolution.' Totally positive message.
It is difficult to put the libertarian philosophy into just a few words without leaving the wrong impression or without being vacuous.
May help the cause reach liberals
Before you speak disparagingly about all the people in your city who are not working and living off welfare, or about the financial bailouts, or national healthcare please first ask yourself some questions:
- Have I taken someone under my wing and taught them how to work, or do I assume that everyone was raised in such a way to develop a good work ethic?
- Do I spend my money in such a way that would support the jobs in my local economy, or do I only concern myself with fashionable corporate trends and immediate savings?
An open letter and warning from a former tea party movement adherent to the Occupy Wall Street movementSubmitted by rex84 on Tue, 10/04/2011 - 07:44
I didn't write this letter but it's well worth the read, as well as are the responses below it:
I don't expect you to believe me. I want you to read this, take it with a grain of salt, and do the research yourself. You may not believe me, but I want your movement to succeed. From a former tea partier to you, young new rebels, there's some advice to prevent what happened to our now broken movement from happening to you. I don't agree with everything your movement does, but I sympathize with your cause and agree on our common enemy. You guys are very intelligent and I trust that you will take this in the spirit it is intended.
I wish I could believe this Occupy Wall Street was still about (r)Evolution, but so far, all I am seeing is a painful rehash of how the government turned the pre-Presidential election tea party movement into the joke it is now. We were anarchists and ultra-libertarians, but above all we were peaceful. So, the media tried painting us as racists. But when that didn't work they tried to goad us into violence. When that failed, they killed our movement with money and false kindness from the theocratic arm of the Republican party. That killed our popular support.

“Forgotten” college students turning to Libertarian party

Grant Williams doesn’t consider himself a revolutionary. But that doesn’t mean he’s not angry.
“I want to be free to prosper,” Williams said. “I feel like it’s so hard to bring your talents to rewarding use in the market place, and it shouldn’t be that way.”

Flash!! Jesse Ventura : "Ron Paul, I'll Be Your VP if You Quit Republican Party and Run as a Libertarian"
On todays Alex Jones show Jesse Ventura stated he would run as Ron Paul's Vice Presidential running mate if Ron Paul quit the Republican Party and ran as a libertarian. Ventura said, "Ron Paul is not a republican, he is really a libertarian. If he runs as a libertarian, (small l) he would consider running as his VP if his wife gave him the green light.
You're not a libertarian! What is libertarianism and who is one? Noam Chomsky and Ron Paul both claim to be libertariansSubmitted by Philomath on Thu, 09/22/2011 - 18:39
I started discussing this topic on another thread, but it is important enough to me that I wanted to make a post in the hopes that others are interested in discussing it.
Question is what is libertarianism and who is a libertarian?
Noam Chomsky claims to be a libertarian as does the good Dr. Paul, but they have very different beliefs on a number of important topics, so how can they truly both be libertarians?
For example, some people argue Jefferson was a "left-libertarian and was against ownership of land. Paine is thrown in there for good measure.
I've been in Colorado for the last two weeks spreading the message of Ron Paul (and other topics I write about). I've met with the Libertarian Party, Green Party (wore my Ron Paul t-shirt), Buffs for Paul, Liberty on the Rocks and the "Left Hand of Liberty." As well I've met a number of people while traveling, and have had some amazing conversations. Posted an article with my notes, links and thoughts.

Country, GOP More Libertarian In 2012, Says Ron Paul
Once again the government takes the easy way out of damage assessment instead of doing their jobs...hell, it's not their money@@@@@@@@@@

The writer of this piece argues that Rand was not being a hypocrite for using Social Security and Medicare because she was forced by the government to pay into it.
