An open letter and warning from a former tea party movement adherent to the Occupy Wall Street movementSubmitted by rex84 on Tue, 10/04/2011 - 07:44
I didn't write this letter but it's well worth the read, as well as are the responses below it:
I don't expect you to believe me. I want you to read this, take it with a grain of salt, and do the research yourself. You may not believe me, but I want your movement to succeed. From a former tea partier to you, young new rebels, there's some advice to prevent what happened to our now broken movement from happening to you. I don't agree with everything your movement does, but I sympathize with your cause and agree on our common enemy. You guys are very intelligent and I trust that you will take this in the spirit it is intended.
I wish I could believe this Occupy Wall Street was still about (r)Evolution, but so far, all I am seeing is a painful rehash of how the government turned the pre-Presidential election tea party movement into the joke it is now. We were anarchists and ultra-libertarians, but above all we were peaceful. So, the media tried painting us as racists. But when that didn't work they tried to goad us into violence. When that failed, they killed our movement with money and false kindness from the theocratic arm of the Republican party. That killed our popular support.

Forgive the misleading title, but I think it was the only way I could get those within the Tea Party who are adverse to the mention of Ron Paul's name to watch this video. If you guys can spread it around to tea party groups, I think some folks would change their minds on the assassination of al-Awlaki or at least have some serious reservations about how far we have come as a nation.
Here's how I've tried to frame the argument when talking to fellow Tea Partiers:
We should be terrified for the day Barack Obama declares the Tea Party a terrorist organization and sends a Predator Drone to neutralize the radicalizing forces here in America...
Prominent Tea Partiers may very well be at the top of Barack Obama's list... and this killing of an America-hating American sets a dangerous precedent by saying the Obama administration can kill Americans if they think they're a radical terrorist.
I think this is a great piece that points out some of the things that happened to the Tea Party movement, and also points out the commonalities between the recent Occupy Wall Street protests and our own Liberty movement. Really, we should no longer buy into the left vs right, democrat vs republican paradigm, as I believe that is deliberately pushed by the establishment to dilute and break up the popular uprising. We all have differences, that's what makes this country so unique, but we also have a common enemy, corporatism, and those who seek to destroy our constitution and our rights.
Hitting the market in the most polarizing way can often bring friends of principle together. 6 weeks later is the Florida primary. Its 9 days before Xmas. Hello grassroots.. this is our moment to shine. Who does the GOP really have? Clones of bush via Karl rove. Romney will only get party loyalists. Perry is going down. Bachman? Cain??? Its up to this movement to make it happen. We created the tea party. It is full well time enough to show the tea party the principles in which it was founded. Peace. Rights and sound money. Following the rule of law.

MANCHESTER – A stream of Ron Paul supporters hoisted royal-blue signs and waved while standing outside St. Anselm College on Friday morning as the presidential hopeful participated in the Politics & Eggs series hosted by the New Hampshire Institute of Politics and the New England Council.
We should try to get some influence to the Iowa Tea Party. I remember seeing an interview from its head Ryan Rhodes during the straw poll and of course he did not mention Ron Paul.
Here is his contact information- maybe we can send some supporters to one of their meetings.

This is the version that should be used by those who want to copy and spread the speech. I took out the personal comments and improved a few things. It was designed to reach the right-wingers who are 75%-90% in our camp, but have some misgivings about a few issues. They either don't understand the issues or have mistaken views about positions of Dr. Paul on some things.

I work in Homecare and while I was at a client's house, of course, he had Fox news on.. He was talking to me while Neil Cavuto (fox news) was doing a commentary about third parties and the reason that they don't have a chance is because "The media" doesn't give people the opportunity to hear them and their positions and keep saying "they can NEVER win" I know that he specifically mentioned Ron Paul but I had to focus on the client..
I guess all the people of color in the tea party are unlce toms?
Here is an old clip of Morgan stating how he would end racism. Seems he forgot about this 60 minute interview back in the day.

LOS ANGELES — Don't look for Morgan Freeman at any Tea Party events anytime soon. Unless he's there to protest them.
The "Invictus" star condemns the Tea Party political movement as "a racist thing" for trying to oust Pres. Barack Obama from office on Friday's edition of "Piers Morgan Tonight."
I've been in Colorado for the last two weeks spreading the message of Ron Paul (and other topics I write about). I've met with the Libertarian Party, Green Party (wore my Ron Paul t-shirt), Buffs for Paul, Liberty on the Rocks and the "Left Hand of Liberty." As well I've met a number of people while traveling, and have had some amazing conversations. Posted an article with my notes, links and thoughts.
A bit old now, but not *too* old...
I redid the order to rank them from most to least popular. Also, the fair ended on the 5th, so I don't expect any further votes. ;-)

GOP Presidential Straw Poll Results.....so far!
Below are the final results as of 09/05/11.
Candidate Votes %
Rick Perry 950 41%
Mitt Romney 353 15%
Sarah Palin 260 11%
Ron Paul 220 10%
Michelle Bachmann 217 9%
Herman Cain 144 6%
This new poll suggests some strange (to put it nicely) behaviors of the Tea Party.
This is all according to this poll, which may or may not be a fair representation.
Anyway, the poll's findings show Rick Perry as the front-runner, and Tea Partiers view him most favorably (59%) among all other candidates.
More shocking is Ron Paul at 5%. And most shocking is his favorability index amongst Tea Partiers (the only one with a net negative favorability).
