Beware the call of Direct Democracy

Dear Daily Paul readers and posters please beware the increasing call for Direct Democracy, it is a trap. Instead we need to return to the original idea of the United States government, A Constitutional Republic. The founding fathers created “a republic, if you can keep it,” as Ben Franklin said, when asked in Philadelphia what kind of government they had given us.

The founding fathers understood that democracy was a trap,

Restoring the republic at the local level

The campaign should really openly endorse this project, if it has not been presented to Ron Paul directly then someone desperately needs to do so.

Have there been any plans for Rally for the Republic II?

Rally for the Republic was epic in that it rivaled the GOP convention and there was a huge mass of supporter turn out. I failed to attend that Rally.
Rally for the Republic II, should be held this year in anticipation of Ron Paul winning the Republican Nomination. Obviously Ron Paul supporters aren't going to hold a counter rally if Paul gets the nomination, thus if we wait around until next year we are either saying Ron Paul won't win so the rally should counter the convention, or that we should not have the rally at all.
What are your thoughts?

Appeals Court rules it is 'NOT ILLEGAL' to film police

Despite the mass hoax still being promulgated by both the mainstream media and local authorities across America, the First Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that it is not illegal for citizens to videotape police officers when they are on public duty.

Ron Paul Campaign Welcomes Constitutional Law Heavyweight Bruce Fein as Senior Advisor

LAKE JACKSON, Texas--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign announced today that constitutional and international law expert Bruce Fein will join the campaign as senior advisor on legal matters.

“Bruce Fein’s participation adds to our campaign’s already intellectual heft, enabling us to more broadly engage the conversation about constitutionality, civil liberties and the dangers to national security of an increasingly interventionist foreign policy,” said Ron Paul 2012 Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

Mr. Fein served as associate deputy attorney and general counsel to the Federal Communications Commission under President Ronald Reagan. He served as Research Director for Republicans on the Joint Congressional Committee on Covert Arms Sales to Iran, and on the American Bar Associations Committee on Presidential Signing Statements. He has been a Visiting Fellow for Constitutional Studies at the Heritage Foundation and an adjunct scholar at American Enterprise Institute. He has advised numerous countries on constitutional reform, including South Africa, Hungary and Russia.
