If you take away the impetus for people to look for work, they simply won't bother.

Unfortunately it's human nature and not many of us could resist the temptation.

I plead guilty myself. A few years ago I was laid off for 4 months before being called back.

But partly out of bitterness over the unemployment program (it costs employees on our paychecks) and partly because it was the easy road, I used it.

But I had to calm down that little voice in my head telling me it was a little less than moral.

And believe me, if unemployment wasn't there, I'd have been off my rear-end and getting a new job. Period.

Unemployment was meant to be a bridge to another job but it's way out of hand now. Two months should be plenty, but even that assumes we have a RIGHT to a job.

Last year the Obama administration added 33 weeks to state programs for a total of nearly 2 years of unemployment available.
