"Forbes: Abolish the TSA"
Let airlines accommodate passengers. Supply some separate, competing flights for hyper-security. Make passengers pay a premium for the privilege of getting groped, radiated, fondled, and delayed. Make passengers pay for the equipment.
All other flights will follow standard security checks, removed delays, no full body scanners. Let passengers choose. Watch the hyper-security flights dwindle and eventually disappear versus regular flights.
There is some level of risk in doing everything, including getting up in the morning to go to work. Body Scanners are an asinine attempt to eliminate the irreducible risk. You are 100 times more likely to die in your own car than in an airplane (this is an accurate statistic for which I have no immediate citation but have read it very recently).
Let common sense, the free market and the airlines handle security.
