No, not at all. There were always those who believed .....

in the Promised Messiah, even as far back as Adam. Eve, Abel and Seth, who gave evidence to that belief by their actions.

So no one automatically goes to Hell.

As to the unasked question of who Y'shua (Jesus) was or was not, He, Himself made plenty of references to both His place of origin and who His Father really was.

The disciples had no logical reason to perpetuate lies ( He rose from the dead, He was the Son of God) that would endanger both their place with in the synagogue and their very lives. So you are left with Josh McDowell's trilemma:

Giving the disciples the benefit of the doubt (for the reason stated above) in their ability to tell the truth,
Y'shua (Jesus) was one of three things:
A liar (potentially a demon), A lunatic (completely insane) or God Incarnate. Since we affirm that the disciples did not lie about Him, and since they record His claims to deity in many places, this is what we are left with. DYOC as to the logical conclusion.

But that man should play the tyrant over God, and find Him a better man than himself, is astonishing drama indeed!~~D. Sayers
