Thanks for the suggestions on the card...
I designed this card with a specific audience in mind, and for use during the primary, pre-general election, I'm directly targeting those "conservatives" stuck in the right paradigm - the ones that idolize Reagan and have "support our troops" bumper sticker on their cars. My thought is to try and use this card to tweak the interest of those not so likely to get on the web and do research, as a norm, let's say 45+ - people who actually remember when America had some "Foundations".
If you notice, I purposefully messed with the logo too. My memory is too vivid of renting and running a booth for Ron Paul at the local county fair with the "Hope For America" signs. No where did they even reference "President 2008" and people thought he was running for dog-catcher. We MUST NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKES TWICE (which I see is happening all over again). Everything we produce should have PRESIDENT 2012 boldy stated.
"Restore the Foundations" to me, is more substantive than "Restore America Now". We won't be "restoring America now" or anytime soon, (if ever). At best, we will put our finger in the dike to buy just a little more time.
I'm also trying to break through the veil of deception that many Christians are under by referencing part of an old-Testament scripture, "If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" Psalm 11:3. I heard Ron Paul personally say that a Republic needs two elements to thrive - personal responsibility and morality. Those are the foundations I'm referencing.
--I'm adding the period after MD.
--I already mentioned that he was recently elected to his llth term with a 79% majority". I verified the number of terms with Steven at Ron Paul's Congressional office in Washington this morning).
--The Reagan quote is intentional on this card, as is the heavy emphasis on the military on the back. This card is designed for the person who's been sold the lie that Ron Paul is out of the mainstream as a Conservative. We know that for many "conservatives", Reagan is immortalized in their minds as being the conservatives conservative. Although we know that he wasn't quite so conservative, when measured with Ron Paul, they don't know that.
I agree with you that the front quote should be updated for the main election to something that has broader appeal (IMHO).
Thank you so much for your objective critique - that's what I'm looking for.
