from his book sales. I think the proceeds go the a foundation that Dr. Paul set up, the FREE foundation if I remember correctly. All the books are very reasonably priced too, so I bet there's not too much profit margin anyway. However there have been a ton of copies sold so it probably adds up.

I remember a while back there was some scandal where Newt was getting big signing bonuses for book writing contracts. Dr. Paul probably wanted to avoid any appearance of impropriety and decided to give the money to the foundation which would put it to good use.
