Batman was a character developed during the Great Depression

Do a little comic book history here.

Superman was created during WWI when we felt the "world" was in crises. Batman, however, was created during the Great Depression when "street crime" was on the rise and the threats were more domestic than foreign. And the "hero" came from within our humanity versus a "savior" from the stars.

I just found it interesting that this franchise has been reignited during another time of economic uncertainty where street crime is again on the rise.

But at the end of the day, don't read too much into it. It is, after all, a comic book character ;-)
