how unexpected! Alright, they're gone. Don't worry about it, glad you like the fireworks.

My experience has shown that this glitch occurs when the site briefly overloads, and I can only conclude repeats commands. Did you happen to notice the site slow to a crawl during your comment? This is hard to diagnose, because it might have been happening while you were writing it, without you noticing.

I also verified it happened when someone presses the button repeatedly, but I added a script to prevent that. Maybe it's not working right in IE, or something.

So without looking much, much deeper (which I can't even do), I'm at a loss on fixing this.
