One of the reasons I think he quit

is that in the debate he claimed the US was in on the recent Iranian scientist assassinations while the US government is claiming no involvement. By MSM rules this makes Pawlenty a conspiracy theorist. I was looking forward to him getting questioned about this issue.

"Former Gov. Tim Pawlenty went hard and fast on the question of Iran, not just supporting the notion of attacking the nation but praising the “good works” of the US government in assassinating Iranian scientists and the “good work” of creating the Stuxnet computer virus, which threatens to do massive damage to industrial computers far beyond Iran."

"The United States on Monday denied Iranian accusations it assassinated a scientist and urged the Islamic regime not to use the incident to "distract attention" from its contested nuclear program."
