Though your solution makes sense, there's a chance that it doesn't apply to the poll. You "assume" that it's SQL-backed, and was programmed like you or I would program it. I saw indications that it was not.
Unless you SAW FOR YOURSELF the way the information was stored, calculated and retrieved... there's a good chance that your solution (for this instance) is off-base.

Hell, maybe the programmer went home for the day, and some hack merely commented-out Ron Paul on the interface!

In either case, they lied about the reason for taking Dr. Paul off the poll!
