Precious metal storage for renters?

First of all, I want to thank the regulars for keeping this topic up-to-date with a wellspring of information about gold and silver. I started buying gold and silver back in 2008, but I had no idea what I was doing at the time and was really just reacting out of fear (remember Live cashback on ebay?). Since then I've become more educated about it, particularly thanks to people in this thread and Mike Moloney's Gold and Silver book, but I still have a lot to learn. All that to say, there are a lot of people, like myself, who benefit from your discussions on this thread even if they aren't commenting, so keep up the good work!

Now to my question: What is the recommended gold/silver storage solution for people who don't own their home (renters)? It is my understanding that floor and wall safes are the best solution for home owners, but obviously renters can not make the necessary modifications for this. I originally bought some generic $100 Honeywell standing safe back in 2008, but should I find something a little more substantial? I'm sure I'm not the first renter to encounter this dilemma, so I'd appreciate any feedback/recommendations/personal experience you can offer.

Thanks in advance for your help!
