This type of killing just inspires more acts of terror.
Do not repay evil with evil, is the kind of rule that befits American values. We have a Constitution that prescribes the limits of the State. Those who swear an oath to defend the Constitution ought to keep that oath.
I find it puzzling that so many people cheering this assassination are what I call warmongering pro-life Christians. They want to protect life in the womb (I have no problem with that), but promote holy wars abroad that kill a million innocent people and in their pursuit after oil, for the benefit of the war profiteers and other corporate interests.
After eight years of war, we are no safer, no closer to building respect and friendship among Muslim nations, no closer to paying for the $2 trillion of debt caused by these illegal wars racked up and no closer to changing the intentions of militants to commit acts of terror against us. No, this does not send a message to terrorists. This just emboldens them.
Under the Third Reich, freedom of speech, disarmament of population, warrantless searches, the suspension of due process and the killing of citizens by the State became the norm. Our Constitution specifically protects us from such a government. During WWI and WWII many of our Constitutional rights were trampled upon, which is why Sinclair Lewis said that war is the health of the State. Under the so-called war on terror, US citizens become "people of interests" and as such become targets for State authorized assassinations. These bloodthirsty individuals with no respect for the Constitution (until their rights are violated) happily come to the defense of the State. It is incomprehensible.
