My experience in New York

I registered Republican just for Ron Paul. Anyhow, I mailed in my registration form and yesterday received confirmation by mail that showed I had no political party affiliation. I went down to the Board of Elections office and filled out the form again, double checking the Republican box. They accepted it and time stamped it. Called today to confirm I am Republican. They told me that I would still be independent until after the November election. I asked them to confirm my party change was in the system, and they said it was. Hopefully that is true.

...What a pain. As someone below said, the GOP is a club and they don't want you in it. If I wasn't very well informed, I would be prevented from voting in the primary next April.

We all want progress, but if you're on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive.
