Your party change will go into effect one week after the general election, which is November 8, 2011. That means you will officially be registered Republican on November 15.
Remind all your friends to double check their registration. If they are not registered Republican, they need to hand deliver or have the voter registration postmarked by October 14 in order for them to be eligible to vote in the 2012 primary.
