If prayer is your thing, then go for it.
However, since I believe there is no god and what we do on this earth is what counts: be nice to people and treat them as you want to be treated, with respect and tolerance. Hatred leaves scars that are difficult to heal. And working toward a goal is far more important than expecting the man in the sky to fix stuff while you kneel in supplication.
Maybe it's unpopular in these here parts, but your heart, your soul, and all of your feelings and beliefs are a miracle of brain activity. Amazing stuff. Learn to harness them and in doing so you'll be able to take responsibility for the imperfect being your are and we all are. No outside party necessary.
I'd love to leave the "Response" and "dominionist theology" to the "wear my religion on my sleeve" candidates, however, it always spills over, doesn't it?
