How MUCH can you twist and turn, reach and grope?
Well let's take a look...
I copied the whole Constitution of Iran (I am sure in a database now). Then I searched multiple terms in the word doc. If we were to believe Mrs. Bachman, we would think that Jihad and global conquering would be PLASTERD all over this document.
Buzz-O-Meter goes off RED Like the Batphone Bat-Woman Bachmann doesn't have.
Mrs Bachmanns comment “Look no further than the Iranian Constitution which states unequivocally that their admiss…their mission is to extend jihad across the world and eventually to set up a world-wide caliphate. We would be fools and naives to ignore their purpose and their plan”
OK Michelle, let’s Fact check that.
I found “JIHAD” a massive total of ONE TIME in the Constitution of Iran. Check this out:
In time of peace, the government must utilize the personnel and technical equipment of the Army in relief operations, and for educational and productive ends, and the Construction Jihad, while fully observing the criteria of Islamic justice and ensuring that such utilization does not harm the combat-readiness of the Army.
Now, your next question should be; What in the heck does “Construction Jihad” mean?
Well the Federation of American Scientist in 1998 made the following determination on the Iranian constitution that was adopted on October 24, 1979:
Revolutionary Guards' Pasdaran Construction Jihad
The monopoly of the regular armed forces over domestic arms production and repair industries ended in 1983 when the SDC authorized the Pasdaran to establish its own military industries. This new policy was in line with the Pasdaran's growing political and military weight. Beginning in 1984, the first Pasdaran armaments factory manufactured 120mm mortars, antipersonnel grenades, various antichemical-warfare equipment, antitank rockets, and rocket-propelled grenades.
Prior to 1989 the ballistic missiles program was responsibility of the missile unit Wakhid-e-Mashachekh of the Revolutionary Guards. In 1989, elements of the Ministry of Defense and the Guards merged to form the Ministry of the Armed Forces Logistics (MODAFL), and their production facilities were merged into the Defense Industry Organization (DIO).
So, what does this mean? Very simply put, the Iranian Military industrial Complex is OWNED and MANAGED by the Iranian government. The name Pasdaran is simply another name for the Iranian revolutionary Guard ( http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/iran/pasdaran.htm )
You have been Debunked and Corrected again Michelle.
