I don't know how Virginia rules split delegates, but this decision also bothers me. The decision looks good to some Paulis, but we shouldn't favor a decision just because it looks good for us. Ron Paul hasn't set this example.
I'm not comfortable with a Federal judge deciding this issue. Within broad limits, states should decide how states participate in Federal elections. If Virginia's ballot access is too restrictive, making it less restrictive seems the right approach, and Virginia needs a means of changing the rules in this direction. If a last minute change made ballot access more restrictive, I'd feel differently.
